We were leaving San Antonio and passing through Austin on our way home and wanted to see the city. We were disappointed that it was not as close to downtown as we had hoped. The hotel was very pretty but had some minor issues. The light switch in the bathroom was not "mudded" on the wall correctly. It was hanging sideways. It didn't affect the way the light worked but it looked very cheap and ugly. The bathroom door did not latch shut. The latch didn't even meet up. It was totally off center. The hotel just went through a huge remodel and some things must have been done in a huge hurry?! The shower head was fantastic though! Very large and great water pressure. Also, the beds were very comfortable!
I don't know if we would stay here again. It was too much like the area where I live. We were looking for more tourist things to do. This was a very suburban area. There is a Target across the street and many restaurants within walking distance. There is even a Gap. Again, I have all this at home. But if this is what you are on vacation to do~then this hotel would be perfect!
