Renaissance Austin Hotel

Our niece reserved a block of rooms for her wedding and we're glad she did! Very nice hotel with attentive, friendly staff (which sometimes seems to be hard to find). The rooms were updated and clean. Parking lots were a little walk away, but they also had a free parking garage available or Valet parking (same distance as free parking). One night the neighbors were a bit noisy but Mgmt responded immediately when notified. It's a busy popular hotel for events evidently, so crowds were common. Mark at the front desk was particularly accommodating and informative. Would stay there again when in Austin!

Room Tip: Higher floors have better view

The location by The Arboretum is excellent as is their workout facility on the bottom floor! The restaurants are average - you can do better in a foodie city like Austin. The accommodations are very nice with lots of room and very clean. I would definitely recommend.

We found this beautiful hotel to be very comfortable along with being pretty to look at. We found ourselves constantly commenting on how friendly everyone was, including every valet, doorman waiter, waitress, buffet Cook and everyone at the front desk. Every morning at breakfast our server, Mara, greeted us by name after our first day! She really made us feel like we were special. The service was outstanding. We had a busy agenda so we were not able to take advantage of the shops in the area but, I thought that may be another reason to make it back to this lovely hotel. The work out facilities were great, too.

Room Tip: Buy the breakfast included rate, especially if staying on the weekend.

This was my 2nd stay at the Austin Renaissance, Arboretum. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, the fitness center is well equipped and maintained, and the hotel is in a nice location.

In the Arboretum area, the Renaissance is comfortable walking distance to Z'Tejas and Eddie V's and the Arboretum shops, and only a few minutes drive from the Domain shopping area which boasts a number of nice restaurants and plenty of additional shopping. In addition, it's only a few minutes drive from some of Austin's finest barbecue at Rudy's.

The hotel is an open style with all rooms opening onto the walkway which is open to the atrium. It can be a little loud during the day as it has some meeting/convention rooms and sees a good bit of traffic through the Atrium, but I haven't had any issues with excess noise at night.

Overall this is a very nice property and I will definetly stay here in the future when convenient to my needs.

The rooms are priced high but very comfortable. The staff is incredible. I was there as a guest and event organizer. The hotel staff made sure we were well take care of t every turn. The gym is fantastic but the wifi is terrible. We couldn't even get the pay service to reach our room.

This is the only property that we book when staying in Austin. Security and privacy is utmost in our selection of properties. Seeing the same staff on a regular basis shows us that they have continuity of service at the property. Parking has never been a problem along with the upkeep of the room. The food is always great and consistent in quality. Even when they had conferences in the hotel, we did not experience any noise or inconvenience.
If you want to dine elsewhere, very good restaurants are in the area. We stay all over the world and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: They have several elevators. Be sure and ask to be away from the elevators.

We stayed for business. The convenience of staying where the conference was held was a positive. Positives: The staff was exceptionally polite. I forgot my hotel key in my room and didn’t have my ID with me, so the security guard escorted me back and requested ID when we arrived at the room. I thought this was a great process and made me feel safer at the hotel. There are plenty of appealing (mostly chain) eating options in the area within walking distance if you like. The negatives: Rooms are outdated and shower/tub area small. Rooms smelled a little musty. (perhaps a result of the constantly running AC?) Internet was disappointing. $12.95 in the room for wireless and then it won’t work in the conference area downstairs? If you’re staying in a hotel and pay for wireless, it really should work in the conference area as well. Note To Marriott: Most hotels have stopped charging for wireless. Get on board. Soda in the gift shop was $3.74 which felt a little excessive. Overall a nice stay but if I were on vacation I would stay somewhere else.
