We recently stayed there for the first Texas home game of the year. It is a great location, right in the middle of everything, including a big triathalon that went on out our window on the lake, and then bikers going past the hotel for a long time, with traffic blocked off. It wasn't an inconvenience for us, but it might have been for some guests. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations and I think it will be for a long time, with a lot of room updates planned, in addition to the restaurant situation, which was a little inconvenient. The room was fine, with a great corporate rate we got, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They've redone the pool area, apparently - it seems pretty small to me, but part of that is because of the slope down to the lake - there's only so much room. The misters and big-screen in the pool area were nice. We would definitely stay there again, even with the renovations going on.

Not a great hotel, I suppose, but we found we really liked it, nonetheless. As an older hotel, the bathrooms were on the small side and the furniture was very basic, but everything was clean and in good working order. The location is great, which was the reason we chose to stay here in the first place - on Town Lake but much cheaper than the Hyatt.
We were there on a UT football weekend. Their "no partying" clause was a nice addition. Quiet hotel all weekend.

PROS
Self Park option - ($5 per day on our room option)
Perfect staff - every member was helpful and cheerful without being over-the-top
Pool - great outdoor pool overlooking the lake
Access to trail
Starbucks on site
Sleep Number bed

CONS
No restaurant (not sure we would have used it anyway - but they did have a makeshift bar)
Basic decor - no problem for us
Fitness facility rather small

We booked the cheapest room (with the self-parking addition) but remarked that we would appreciate an upgrade, if available. When we arrived, we found ourselves in a King Suite overlooking the lake - two huge windows. Very nicely done, Radisson!

The hotel was fine except that services were limited since the Radisson was under renovations while in Austin for a conference. I would not have minded so much except that when I booked, there was no mention that there wouldn't be a restaurant so, I did eat there but was very limited to the front reception area and the food, as well as the refreshments, were extremely limited. For example, the only wine they had to accompany our dinner (hamburgers at that!) was a Riesling and that was that! They even ran out of corona beer that same night - ah the woes of renovations!
The staff were very nice and the hotel room was accommodating, as well as the location to the conference centre, which was just a few blocks away.
I would probably stay here again but would check to ensure that it was functioning 100% before I booked.

I looked forward to watching the Sunday night NFL game in the TGIF bar, only to find that the restaurant had closed two months ago. Although reportedly under construction, there was no practical solution to eating onsite. It's a couple of blocks to The Cedar Door, which satisfied my entertainment and meal needs. The room was enormous, with a beautiful view of the Colorado River. The decor seems a couple of decades old, and could use refreshing. The Sleep Number bed was great. The front desk staff were very personable and accommodating of my billing needs. The "grab and go" continental breakfast was adequate but fell short of my favorite meal choices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Colorado, which affords viewing of bats leaving a nearby Congress Ave brid...

Nice stay at the Radisson. The hotel has a nice lobby, and although we didn't get one of the renovated rooms, our room was spacious and clean. Love the sleep number. Staff was friendly and enjoyed the pool. Good vibe and the misters and fans on the lounge chairs surrounding the pool made the heat bearable. You can walk to the places to eat on Congress and Rainey street and also to 6th street, if your into that kind of thing. Only downside is the price of drinks at the poolside service. Guess they charge the regular room service rates because my husband paid $7.50 for a michelob ultra. We had it charged to the room so we didn't realize there was the room service fee and instant gratuity. We wouldn't have tipped the extra money if we had known. Just saying we have stayed at other places, and they did not charge the room service rates at the pool. Despite that it was a great place to stay and right on the Congress bridge so you can see the bats and go for a nice run or bike ride. Would stay again.

We came to Austin for our bachelor/bachelorette parties. We picked this hotel bc it was close to everything and the rate was great. It's minutes from congress where there is tons to do. If you want a cab $5 can get you far. 6 St was a few blocks down and the walk was not that bad. It's in a safe location and offered great service. The rooms are super clean and beds are comfy. The ac works ok, it you like it super cold it won't get that cold. We had a change of plans and needed to go back to Austin for another day and we decided to stay at the same place. Over all I give them a10!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the north side have less sun.

First of all, you cannot beat the location. It's right downtown within walking distance to 6th street and Town Lake (or is it Lady Bird Lake now?). The absolutely best part about this hotel are the beds. They were incredibly comfortable and the pillows were fantastic. The sheets were pretty soft for a hotel. It was also VERY quiet. You could not hear your neighbors at all or anyone walking above your head. All I want in a hotel is a nice quiet place to sleep and the Radisson delivered.

There's a full Starbucks in the lobby. Pool is also there but I didn't use it. The staff was very nice, helpful, and got us checked in a little early to our room since we arrived early. The only downside is that you have to pay $17 a night for parking which is kind of a rip off.

The hotel is a little dated but they're undergoing renovations at the moment. It's still pretty nice though the restaurant is closed so call ahead to see where they are on the updates. Honestly, at that location you don't need a restaurant with all the good food within walking distance.

Room Tip: I stayed city side and it was very quiet so either side is good.
