The Sheraton Austin @ the Capitol is a typical Sheraton hotel. The rooms are decently appointed, although it was starting to show it's age, but not yet to the point of being unreasonable. The bedding was adequate as well, I've been in worse Sheratons, but I've also been in better ones.
The desk staff was friendly and helpful. I did not really have an opportunity to use the housekeeping staff.
The restaurant had nice food and the wait staff was helpful if a little distracted, but nothing too bad. I only ate lunch/breakfast there, so I don't know how dinner time was.
The location of the hotel is just off the freeway, which makes getting around Austin fairly easy. However, since it's just off the freeway, it's a little farther to walk to any of the nightlife from the hotel. It's possible for sure, but it's a little bit of a hike, again not too bad though.
All in all, it's a decent hotel, maybe a little overpriced for what you get, but just about middle of the road. You could do worse.More
