“Great appetizers and desserts!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We were there for a company sponsored party so we didn't order from the menu but all the appetizers (sliders, etc.) were great. Wonderful desserts too!

“World Class Mac and Cheese”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

There are lot of good reasons to go to Lamberts for their outstanding smoked ribs, brisket and pull porked.Their jalapeno sausage is special as well. The best reason to go to Lamberts is their amazing baked mac and cheese side. Having consumed decades of very ordinary mac and cheese, Lamberts sets the bar for their signature premium mac and cheese at a very high level.

Don't go to Lamberts without sampling their world class mac and cheese.

“Excellant Food”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

All food was home made. Great everything- mostly BBQ beef, pork, etc. Best fries some people ever had. Desserts were home made and to die for. A definite go to place. Your clothes will smell smoky when you leave.

“Upscale BBq”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

So if you're looking for good bbq with table service and a funky atmosphere, this place fits the bill. Low key but nice. I had the wing app which is some of the best wings I had. Spiced right and served with pickled carrots. Get some bread to soak up the oil. Unfortunately I wasn't able to sample anything else as I had to go. However, the brisket and the pork chop looked outstanding. Check it out.

“Great place...worth the wait.”
Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

While visiting Austin it only seemed right to have some barbecue while we were in town. It was amazing to us how few places were even open on a Monday night, but Lamberts was one of the few barbecue places we could find in walking distance of our hotel that was actually open. We had no reservation but were able to wait a few minutes for a couple spots to open up at the bar. We are so glad we were able to stop in and try out some Austin barbecue!

We had the boudin fritters as an appetizer. It wasn't something we would normally have but it was definitely worth trying. We described it to each other as a meat hush puppy. We tried the beef brisket and the pork ribs. The size of the order of ribs was a little disappointing as were the ribs themselves. They were not fatty or anything like that but not nearly as good as ribs I've had in lots of other places. The side of apple slaw that came with the ribs was one of the more interesting things I have ever had. It tasted like it had a type of orange or citrus accent to it and was absolutely wonderful. We could have eaten that apple slaw all day long.

The beef brisket we also had made the visit to Lamberts all the more worthwhile. The brisket was hands down the best brisket I have ever had anywhere...period. It was tender, full of great flavor, perfectly smoked/cooked, and came in a good-sized portion. Between the apple slaw and the beef brisket this is definitely a place I would recommend as worth a visit for great barbecue.

It was pointed out to us by the bartender who waited on us that there were certain items on the menu that were half-priced as happy hour items. While we didn't try any of those items it looked like a decent selection at a really great price.

Another thing I have to mention was the service. We didn't expect much in what appeared to be a little too niced-up kind of barbecue place, but the service was actually wonderful. The hostess was very nice and helpful and never rushed or frazzled even though the place was slammed. What really stood out though was the bartender/server who waited on us. It was surprising that they did not have sweet tea as a beverage item, so the bartender actually took the regular unsweetened tea and added some simple syrup to it to make her own sweet tea....and it was amazing! I have never had sweet tea quite like it and the fact that this bartender took the time on such a busy night to mix a non-alcoholic drink for me three times when it had free refills to boot was going above and beyond.

If you find yourself in Austin and you are wanting some great brisket at a good price with a side of incredible service, then you are likely to be happy with a visit to Lamberts.
