Description: Kathy and Patrick Terry opened the first P. Terry's on July 5th, 2006 at the corner of South Lamar and Barton Springs. Patrick was following his childhood dream to open a classic burger stand, like the legendary Mack Eplin's he grew up with in Abiliene, Texas. But when Kathy read the book "Fast Food Nation", their plan to provide quality food and service went to a higher level. P. Terry's offers the freshest quality ingredients you can find served out of a drive-thru window. We're where fresh, all-natural, "never-ever" beef and chicken became staple items. We serve fresh-cut fries made from all-natural potatoes, free of trans fats and hydrogenated oils. Add to that our fresh-baked cookies, banana bread, and house veggie burger; our fresh-squeezed orange juice and lemonade; and our authentic milkshakes - we care about what's out there to eat, and we make our food with that in mind. But we didn't forget Patrick's original image - the classic burger joint of the '50s and '60s, when small-town hospitality was the standard. That's why we offer a simple menu with an open kitchen, with premium quality ingredients served at affordable prices. It's why we treat every customer with utmost respect; take every chance to give back to our community; and ensure our employees' well-being - through opportunities to grow with our business, access to unique benefits, and pay above industry standards.

First time at the joint. Ordered 4 Cheeseburger combos. Service was friendly and fast. The place looks clean and the employees seem like they like their jobs.
The burgers were loaded with fresh crisp veg and the meat had just the right amount of grease ratio.
The fries were excellent and everyone was fighting for the last dregs of crispy bits.
We chose lemonade as the drink of choice and it was refreshing after a long swim in the springs.
Well played PT's.

This place reminds me alot of In-and-out burger. Minimalistic menu, smallish burgers, 1950s design. It actually liked it better than the In-and-out. Not the best burger i ever hard but affordable and decent. The fries are standout!

My wife and I returned from our honeymoon with an epic 18-hour-straight journey by car from Chicago. Upon arriving in Austin, we drove directly to P. Terry's on South Lamar--before going home. It's that good.

P. Terry's is our go-to place for both the best days and the worst days. P. Terry's on an average day never hurts, either.

P. Terry's is a great place for a quick, inexpensive meal on the go. Their burgers taste fresher than your typical fast food and they are $2-3 each. Fries are thin cut and really tasty. Milk shakes are divine. You can drive through, or order at their outside window and sit at an outside picnic table.

This is the place I go for the best veggie burger in town. Get it fully loaded - special sauce, organic tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, and jalapeño peppers. But leave off the cheese - it's just a square slab of American, nothing special. And I have seen people order no bun - just wrapped in lettuce - but their bread is so nicely toasted - I can't imagine it without. And the fries are superb - but big enough to split between 2 people! And it's the best Diet Coke in town too- pellet ice that is crunchable and - yes - the DC is even better than Mickey D's!
