Damn good? Damn right! It does get pretty crowded, but that's typical of an awesome establishment, so don't be expecting a nice quite meal, just a tasty mess of goodness!

great chow! Now that the heat is nearing (I mean Summer, not on the plate!) , note Torchy's has other locations on Burnet near 2222 & near campus on Guadelupe.

Growing up in Southern California did not think anyone could rival SoCal tacos. I was wrong. So wrong. Visited the trailer park and was blown away. Everything was fresh and there were options for carnivores and vegetarians alike. Highly recommend the Matador which made me drool before, during, and after eating it.

Another recommendation is the Queso. With green chilies, guacamole, and secret sauce, his is not your mother's or grandfather's Queso. Order this but save room for their tacos.

Went back two additional times and on the last time discovered the secret menu. Mana from heaven. Though I won't reveal the names (it is easily discoverable), the panko breaded tuna fish taco was incredible. They will only make them for you if ask for them by name so if adventurous and hungry, make the trip or two or three . . .

With only outdoor seating available (it is after all a trailer park) seating can be limited. Also, the birds who reside in the trees have become vary comfortable with humans and their waste and are not afraid to share your meal with you.

You cannot go wrong at any Torchy's, with anything on their menu. So far our fave tacos are the fried avocado, baja shrimp & the independent (which is vegetarian). However, to be fair we haven't eaten our way through the entire menu yet, but plan to! Food at this location is prepared & served from a trailer - you get in line & order, get a number, then go sit down on one of the picnic benches & your order is delivered to you. Yesterday I tried the Democrat, which had a huge pile of shredded beef barbacoa with an enormous slice of avocado, queso fresco & salsa. (Try squeezing a little lime juice onto the beef before topping w/ the salsa.) Okay, now this one is added to the 'favorites' list! The queso here is also out of this world. If I could eat here every day, I would.
