“Busy area when conventions in town!”

But the convenience of this location makes it worth it. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were spacious, we never thought to ask for a view and so didn't get one, but enjoyed our stay a lot. We were surprized we had such a wonderful buffet breakfast included, not just the little cereal boxes and make your own waffles, but eggs, bacon, potatoes, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit, juices etc., it was amazing. Then they told us there would also be happy hour included so we dropped in to have a beer and to our amazement we could have had dinner there. They had barbecue one night, and chips and salsa the other night, however both nights offered all kinds of options included for free, along with a glass of wine or beer. Texas hospitality rides again!! You can walk to everything from this location, would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Avoid a room that is above the building next door that has exhaust fans on the roof, they can be pre...

We stayed here last year for SXSW while passing through for work. We were almost deterred in coming through Austin, because we were in a small box moving truck and were concerned about parking in the area due to the crowds and space etc.. We arranged with Zuleyka the front desk manager, whom is very accommodating and friendly, to allow us to park in the delivery area since there were no deliveries left that evening. This really made our entire trip a great one! I can't thank the hotel for their friendliness and compassion towards their guests. I will definitely stay and refer this hotel to everyone making a trip to Austin!

Others to thank:

I stayed for 11 days and the staff at this hotel are so nice and helpfull that I'm looking forward to my next trip. Next week. Suzanna at the front desk is absolutely amazing. She should be promoted as a trainer to train any new staff. If each Marriott hotel had a Suzanna, there would be no reason to ever consider staying anywhere else. Also, Katie in the hotel restaurant was awesome, smile every day. Both of these ladies greeted me by name, each time they saw me coming.

This hotel is in a great location - right in downtown Austin. You have the choice to self park or valet - both are pretty expensive, but so is anything else in downtown Austin.
Check in was VERY easy (I was 3 hours early and they let me check in) and the staff was great.
The free breakfast here is outstanding - the best breakfast buffet I've seen.
Cookies were also offered in the lobby in the afternoon.
Everyone at this hotel was extremely friendly and had great recommendations for restaurants. There's also a ton around the hotel that is walking distance - and the hotel has a Starbucks inside of it, which was a perk.

I'd absolutely stay at this hotel on business again.

theblondegirl,

Thank you for celebrating the hard working and friendly ladies and gentlemen that make our hotel awesome. They are always ready to assist with the newest restaurant tip or entertainment venue. Also, thank you for letting everyone know about the parking. Downtown Austin Parking will range from $1 per hour at meters on the street to $40 for garage parking. The hotel has two options $23 to park in the garage or $29 to valet park. Thank you again and we look forward to entertaining in the future.

My husband and I generally stay in upscale hotels and we love luxury. This time, we had Marriott Rewards to use so we chose the Residence Inn based on other TripAdvisor reviews. We were pleasantly surprised when we stepped in the doors. The lobby area was quaint and nicely appointed and check-in was very easy. We were especially impressed with the lounge area. It was beautifully decorated, very comfy and expansive.

When we got to our corner room, we were impressed with the spaciousness of the room and the kitchen. We had a full sized refrigerator/freezer, which came in handy last weekend since we both had a cold and needed a place to stock our fluids! The couch was comfy and the flat screen tv was in a perfect spot to enjoy from the couch. The bathroom wasn't very impressive and slightly cramped, but we didn't expect too much all things considered.

The hotel is in a great central location. We enjoyed being able to walk to the Capital in 10 minutes. The complimentary breakfast at Champions Bar next door was much more than we expected with eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruits, cereal galore, and even a waffle maker. Pretty great for a free breakfast! Valet was very accommodating and quick with the amount of times we requested our car. We considered this weekend getaway a real steal getting 2 nights "free" with our rewards points. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a relaxed stay in a comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a high floor. We could still hear the traffic from our 5th floor room.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Our associates give our hotel that feel not often found at other Residence Inns. They are all genuinely caring and want our hotel to be your home away from home. Thank you once again.

This hotel is a great location in downtown Austin. It's about two blocks walking distance to 6th street.

The hotel itself is right next door to a Courtyard by Marriott so there are two sides of the lobby. They also have a nice curfew time to avoid having loud late night parties in the hotel which is nice for non-partying guests.

The room had a King Bed as well as a Full Sleeper Sofa. There is no room divider so it's pretty much a studio room. It can get a bit tight if you have four sleeping to a room but it's still a nice comfortable room with a small kitchenette.

Free breakfast was included with the room but unfortunately, we didn't take advantage of it since there are so many great places to eat in Austin!

Overall, the hotel was nice and clean and secure. The parking fees seem a bit high but that might be because it's a hotel in downtown.

For someone who does a lot of business traveling, I was happy to find the Residence Inn in downtown Austin. This hotel provides decent value, is in a good central location and has lovely friendly well-trained staff to help make your stay even more decent.

I stayed there in January 2013 and was impressed with its up to date decor from the moment you walk into the hotel and all the way to the rooms! I was a wee bit confused as to the front desk arrangement because it is really two hotels connected together since we had tried to check in at the Marriott desk only to be directed to the Residence Inn check in desk on the other side of the hotel.

It's very good value at the Residence since you have free internet as well as a hot breakfast. The staff are very helpful, cheery and engaging, always saying hello as you passed by.

I also appreciated the location since it was close to lots of downtown activity as well as a number of restaurants. The only drawback was that I found it quite noisy for sleep purposes hearing people partying outside as well as sirens, etc. Maybe the staff can recommend a quieter location in the hotel so don't hesitate to ask if you are a restless sleeper.

I was very impressed to see that the Residence Inn room actually had a kitchen in it, which I didn't use but could see if you were staying in Austin for some time that it would be very convenient. There was even a dishwasher and full sized fridge in the room! Speaking of the fridge, it made loud knocking sounds so I actually unplugged it the last night of my stay since I couldn't stand it any longer!

All in all, I would definitely book this hotel again - great value, nice decor and staff and central location. A keeper!

CJ,
Thank you for staying with us while in Austin. We look forward to entertaining on your next trip. Parking is Austin is similar to many large cities. Street meters are $1 per hour and require you to move the car every 3 hours at least one block. Covered garage parking is $23 for a full day/night of unlimited in and out and valet service is $29 with unlimited acess.
