“A Step Back In Time”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

Stepping into the Driskill is almost like stepping back in time. I loved the historic feel of the place when walking around. The rooms are beautiful, expensive but worth splurging. There is a good chance of seeing a ghost as its haunted too. (The maid told me). The treatment and southern hospitality was exemplary. We spent some time in the bar which had a live entertainer. I did not want to leave, had that spellbound feeling. This place is like a magnificent old home. I would recommend this venue to everyone.

“History and Class”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

We loved everything about this grand ole hotel. The history, the staff, and their bar with the most amazing margaritas! It was a bit pricy to stay here but well worth the expense. It is right in the middle of the action as well as a great reprieve form that same action :)

“Interesting building and nice bar”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

We had late afternoon drinks at the bar on our last day in Austin after the US Grand Prix. The hotel had been recommended as an interesting heritage building which it certainly was - lots to look at and a great way to experience the Texas history. We enjoyed cocktails there and tried some new ones which we have since had back home. The bar staff were friendly and shared some of the hotel history. I would go back, for sure.

“First time visit”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Stopped in for drinks on a Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving. It was quiet and not crowded, although I hear the place is popular during big Austin events like SXSW. The western art is gorgeous, and the bar is richly decorated with dark wood and leather...like from another era. Bartini drink and sliders were yummy, with excellent service. Football on the televisions was a welcome distraction as well. Very likely to return.
