When we were at the Rot Rally this year we went to the Counter Cafe for breakfast. It was sooooo good. The Eggs Benedict was served on light fluffy biscuits to die for. The breakfast tacos are enough for two, they are overflowing with ingredients. We sat up at the counter where you can watch your food being made. This is a must go to place!! You won't regret it!!!!

“Great food, Great people”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

When you walk into Counter Cafe, you automatically feel like you are at home. It is so warm and inviting. We opted to sit outside because that is our favorite thing to do in Austin. The menu was so appealing we could not decide what to order, but our friendly waitress (one of 4 waitresses in the entire restaurant) recommended a few things which we ended up ordering. She also brought us a few samples of things we had trouble deciding on. Then, she told us all of the menu items Guy Fieri ordered. When Guy goes somewhere, you KNOW it's good. Needless to say, it was. We learned many of the customers were regulars, and the owner came out and thanked us for coming. Also, most of my reviews say couples because I do most things with my husband, but this would be good for anyone...just keep in mind that it is a small place.

“My FAVORITE hole in the wall!”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

This is my all-time favorite place to eat at! But it's tiny, so beware of when you go. Breakfast and lunch are there open times, and I recommend everything on the menu! My fall back is the breakfast tacos and fruit cups which are always with in-season sweet fruit! Staff is AMAZING and friendly. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the food and it's quant-ness.

“A small place that makes you feel at home.”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

This little place in Austin is known for the big helpings of real food. There is a counter and one row of tables as well as a few picnic tables with umbrellas outside. Please take note of their hours. Breakfast, brunch, lunch. Portions are generous, service is friendly. I had the grilled pimiento cheese sandwich and I have to agree with Stella315 - not enough of the pimiento for that flavor to come through. Everyone else in our group loved what they got and after the hearty portions we were more than satisfied.
