“My FAVORITE hole in the wall!”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

This is my all-time favorite place to eat at! But it's tiny, so beware of when you go. Breakfast and lunch are there open times, and I recommend everything on the menu! My fall back is the breakfast tacos and fruit cups which are always with in-season sweet fruit! Staff is AMAZING and friendly. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the food and it's quant-ness.

“A small place that makes you feel at home.”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

This little place in Austin is known for the big helpings of real food. There is a counter and one row of tables as well as a few picnic tables with umbrellas outside. Please take note of their hours. Breakfast, brunch, lunch. Portions are generous, service is friendly. I had the grilled pimiento cheese sandwich and I have to agree with Stella315 - not enough of the pimiento for that flavor to come through. Everyone else in our group loved what they got and after the hearty portions we were more than satisfied.

“Delish chicken burger!”
Reviewed May 23, 2012

So happy we stopped in for an early lunch - had the chicken burger which is so unique and delicious. Have to go back and try the pancakes - they looked so good. By the time we left, there were at least 10-12 people waiting outside. Highly recommended, but go early!

“Busy, but not so great”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

This restaurant was recommended by a friend local to the area, so we went for lunch. The restaurant was busy, which might explain why the eggs, the pork chop, and the potatoes were all undercooked. The signature cheese toast with pimiento was on an over-toasted piece of regular toast with not enough pimientos to fill an olive. $8+ for a cheese toast?! We could have done as well at the Whole Foods down the block (and probably for less). Other people were having hamburgers, which looked quite good.

“Amazing burgers”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

Counter Cafe is always busy!! But worth every minute of the wait. We ordered the burger and while we typically do not eat the bun, the waitress insisted we wanted the bun. So we succumb, got the bun and were very glad we did! Homemade buns, very tasty!! AND they have sweet potato fries!!!! A great weekend spot to just chill for breakfast or lunch.
