I had heard of this place and finally found it.
Only had a quick lunch here and was suitably impressed. Good gumbo and catfish.
Need to try other dishes but was very happy to see whole catfish on the menu. Hard to find. Apparently also have boiled crawfish but did not see them.
Looks like a gem.

This is a small boat--nothing fancy. Good fried fish (although we usually don't eat the fried). the grilled specials are huge! Usually they come with a lot of butter in the fish and veggies...so ask for it plain grilled no butter...rice, steamed veggies, big filet, garlic bread...my 2 daughters and I split this plate and usually get an appetizer. No salads here! Shrimp diablos are great! Gumbo is always hot and fresh! Place is small, but service is quick and friendly...we used to eat there more often, but kinda got out of the 'seafood' mood for a while...been a few months and when we went back last week, we found a table, I went to the ladies room, and when I got back, all of our beverages were already at the table...they know and remembered what we like...pretty nice after a long day at work! You will like this little 'hole' in the wall...casual but fun and fast...oysters too....yumm-o

This is a no frills roadside dive. I love it. For the last 20 years I have visited for the same lunch special. The special is a fried Catfish Filet or Stuffed Crab & Small Gumbo served with french fries, hush puppies & garlic bread. It is served Monday thru Friday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for only $6.95 as of this writing. This is the best lunch deal in town with some really great food. I always get the fish and sub rice for the fries. The fried fish is light and perfectly done ever time. The rice is amazing and could be a meal in itself. The restaurant also has a location in Round Rock off of hwy 79. Highly recommend for the the food and the experience as a great "dive".

Pacific Star looks like a misplaced fish joint which was mistakenly plunked down in the middle of landlocked Northwest Austin instead of on the boardwalk in a rundown little coastal town. The decor is your standard variety roadside/seaside diner tacky. There is a large, u-shaped bar, with a few TVs always blaring some sporting event or another. The tables are vinyl-covered and crowded together, and usually filled with regulars. There is a deck outside, but since it sits right on 183, it's not especially romantic or even remotely quiet -- inside or out.

In short, this place is awesome!

There is nothing healthy on the menu at all -- what you get is excellent battered and fried seafood and sides in all their fatty glory. My favorite dish is the Crawfish Pirogue -- hands down the tastiest sandwich I've ever eaten. It's probably about 12,000 calories, but you will love every single one of them. I like to wash it down with ice cold beer, of which there are many varieties to choose from.

The service is great, and they all seem to have been there forever. The food is plentiful and delicious. It's a very friendly, noisy place, a great place to go with a group or family. I highly recommend!
