“tasty fries and onion rings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2011

my husband and i get take out once a month from this place.
it is close to our house in steiner ranch and it has very good batter for fries and onion rings when i want junk food.
my husband loves the catfish fillets.
dining in is ok but loud at times with chatty adults and kids running amuck.
but it is casual and expected.

“Good food, lots of fun too.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2011

The Boat House Grill is a casual laid back resaurant near Lake Travis. It specializes in fried catfish and hamburger baskets that are so good you will be planning your next visit while you are still there. Though the inside air conditioned section is very small, they have a large covered outside section where live music is performed on weekend nights. The fans make even the hot summer nights comfortable.

“Boathouse Grill - okay!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2010

I've tried this place a few times and I have to say I won't be going back. The food is ok. It's very bland and tastes like it came right out of a freezer. They do have a nice playscape for your children to play on but, for me, we won't be going back.

“Best catfish I've ever had!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2010

We've been going to Boat House Grill for around 6 years now, and this restaurant has consistently good food. I almost always order the catfish platter, with fried catfish, french fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw. It's a lot of food. Their fried shrimp and fried green tomatoes are excellent as well. Swallow it down with a cold Shiner Bock and it's a meal made in heaven!

On the weekends from March to October, they have live bands on the weekend from 6 until closing.

This is a very kid friendly restaurant. There is an indoor area that is fully air conditioned/heated, and then there is a covered area where the musicians play, which has windows that can open up in the warmer months and they close it in and heat it in the colder months.

They just recently added a playscape out back, so that makes the restaurant a great place to eat with kids. Also, this place doesn't really have a dress code, so if you're coming in off the lake and are in a bathing suit, come on in (just make sure you eat at the outside portion).

It's just a very laid back catfish joint!
