A friend who lives in Austin recommended Carmelo's and she was absolutely right! A fairly extensive menu and wonderful service. The ambiance is beautiful. Soft lighting and beautiful decor for a really intimate feel to the restaurant. Service was very good and they offered complimentary valet parking in the evening. Prices were in line for the quality of the food and service. An entree was anywhere from $16 to $35 or so, but the portions were generous. Definitely worth it.

We closed our SXSWi attendance with dinner at Carmelo's. It is a lovely reatsurant, with a family feeling and springlike decor to it. Appetizers were good and large in size, and so was the food. Service was really attentive, the menu was large and we had many options to choose from. Food was very tasty and the dessesrts we chose to split were great as well. All was complemented by a good wine selection.
We had a lovely evening!

I took my two children here for an early dinner and was treated fantastically by the staff. The food was very good as well. I would for sure have the calamari. It was really good. It looks like fun to have creme brulee at this restaurant, but I was afraid my young son might try something with the blowtorch.

We got engaged in Carmelos and returned on our eight wedding anniversary. We went for lunch. There were only a few patrons so we had wonderful attention. The food was good our first visit and even better for our second time around. The serving was comfortably paced and everything was so delicious. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. You will not be disappointed.
