We had a great experience at Roaring Fork with everyone in our group very happy. The steaks are absolutely wonderful, and the roasted half chicken terrific. Our server was on the move since it was very busy, but did a great job. There were a lot of business groups dining there and the atmosphere is upscale western.

“Great food, great service”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

A large group of us (7 adults and a toddler) made an impromptu visit to the Roaring Fork on a Saturday evening around 5:30 p.m., without a reservation. Even though the place was pretty empty, we were told we'd have to wait a couple of hours...or we could eat at a large table in the bar just inside the entryway...which is what we chose. After a short while, we realized why reservations were needed: not only was it prom night for many, but the adjacent theater had a show that evening.

The waiter brought water and took our drink orders efficiently. He then explained the special dishes of the evening and came back soon after with our drinks. A short while later, he took our dinner orders. Most in the group ordered the BigAss Burger, a large piece of meat on a large bun. A side order of what looked like handcut fries was included, presented in a black crock. Two of us ordered the Spinach Chicken Waldorf Salad. While a children's menu wasn't provided, we were told they had cheese quesadillas, mac 'n' cheese, a kid-size cheeseburger and a few other dishes. The waiter was thoughtful enough to bring the toddler's food ahead of the other orders. The remainder of the dishes were delivered fairly close together...so nobody in the group had to sit there and wait for their meal.

I had the Spinach Chicken Waldorf Salad. It was an ample portion, and tasted wonderful. The chicken looked like it had been blackened and grilled; it had a slight bite to it. There was plenty of the chicken, grapes, apples and walnuts.

Those who ordered the burgers said they were excellent. Most took the chipotle mayonnaise on the side.

We were all too full for dessert, but we left the restaurant very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food, and the excellent service. We'd definitely go back.

“Moderately priced good food”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The food was ok, but the focus is on large portions rather than taste.I had the bacon-wrapped pork tendeloin. It was over-cooked and hidden under far too much corn. The service was good (we where served by Emma). Popular place with a full dining-room when we visitid a friday-night.

Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

My husband had the Braised Pork Shoulder which came with Black Beans and more, a huge portion. I had the BIG Burger which is was.

The service was excellent and the food was great.

It was a very pleased with the entire experience.

We were visiting Austin for the day so had tried to read all the reviews and hope for the best.

It was great pick, will return when in Austin again.

“Roaring Fork, happy camper”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Roaring Fork is a great restaurant. I've tried both the downtown location at Stephen F as well as the one in the Austin 'burbs. Both have the same great food. Try it!
