We wanted a nice place to eat on my last night in the area, so drove into the downtown area and found this place. There was supposedly a half hour wait for a table, but we seated ourselves right in front of the roaring fireplace to wait -- a wonderful place to be on a chilly night -- and within a few minutes our table was ready. It was quite close to other diners, but the noise level was not unreasonable, and it didn't interfere with our conversation.
We started with a kettle of green chile pork, which was the best I've ever had outside of New Mexico. Along with fresh hot flour tortillas, this could have been a meal in itself. Then the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with cheese grits and Mexican corn was unbelievable. The corn was perhaps the best "side" I've ever had, and again, I could have dined on that alone. I really can't describe it except to say that if you ever get a chance to try it, don't pass it up!
Throughout the meal the attention of our servers was excellent, and deserves recognition for outstanding attention.
