“Real Texas BBC”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Famous for their BBQ. A real down home place where you have to go to the counter to get food and drink. The sausage was great, and the beef brisket as well. I also had the beef ribs, but I should have had the pork baby back ribs. Cute place!

“Classic BBQ jount ambiance”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Because I'm trying to learn to cook good beef spare ribs (also known as beef finger ribs and beef prime ribs) in my BBQ cooker I tried their beef ribs (NOT short ribs). They were surprisingly moist, perhaps a little too moist for some. Light on the smoke flavor for me, but overall quite good. My wife's chili was good but not exceptional. Beer selection was adequate. This was a "counter-service' restuarant, so service was not relevant. Ambience as a former iron works factory was good.

“Best BBQ in town!”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Every year I go to Austin for business and I make it a POINT to go here at least twice! The brisket is some of the best you'll find. Cooked to perfection and very tender. The turkey is unbelievable. Very tender and moist. Those are my two favs there. If you like BBQ and you're in Austin, make sure you visit. Find Charlotte, the owner. Very pleasant lady. She started this restaurant 34 years ago and is still going strong! You WON'T be disappointed!!
