Convenient location near down town Austin, good veggie dishes, good service and many music options. Prices are reasonable and seconds available for sides at no charge

Very good chicken fried steak with a wonderful assortment of side choices. The service was very good. The fun atmosphere celebrates Austin and the Texas music scene.

I love the home cooking... and margarita's for desert! I always like to get a window spot and take note of the musical guests and when they will be there!

I like both locations, lamar and riverside, but typical end up at the riverside location while riding our bicycles along the river!

A good restaurant with a home-cooking' feel. A little bit diner-food, a little bit interesting upscale food. Large portions, unpretentious service, laid back. Make a meal of sides. If you loved Janis Joplin, it is a must. If you didn't, go for the comfort food and really decent prices.

Went before 6 pm and howdy hour was still on. We had a cocktail and a wine each at about half price, $5 each.

Wife had almond crusted chicken breast and I had bronzed catfish. Both perfectly cooked - tender and juicy. We each had a choice of 2 sides from a list of about 20. Very good. Most dishes are around $12.

The place has been around for decades. Decorated in vintage style but not showing wear.

Our server 1924 (apparently has no name ) did a good job.
