“The Brunch place to be .”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The food was very good and the bloody mary were great. Had 11 people and the bill was under 190 including tip. That was with 5 drinks from the bar!

A kid friendly place as well. They had cans full of crayons for them !

“Decent homestyle cooking”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Threadgill's is an Austin experience for sure. My husband ordered the pecan crusted chicken, and I ordered trout prepared in the same style with a cajun relish on top. Both entrees were tasty, Southern sides - we enjoy the macaroni and cheese and a cucumber and tomato salad. Spinach casserole - OK, maybe a little bitter. Service provided by Jade was super. She was friendly and attentive and enthusiastic to share her ideas about the menu. In addition, our tea glasses were never empty, and she gave us cups to go too! We started with the fried green tomatoes served with a side of zesty ranch - we wish they were a little hotter. They seemed too uniform in size to be homemade. Ahhhhh the mysteries of Threadgill's...We took boxes of food home as portions were generous. No room for dessert. Next time! When visiting Austin, go to Threadgill's to hear a little music and eat a filling dinner. It may not be the best home cooking ever, but it is a fun dining experience.

“Fantastic Sunday Brunch!”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

When in Austin, visit Threadgill's. Sunday brunch is fantastic with a large buffet and omelette station. There is also live gospel music there every Sunday.
