What is not to like. Historic building, easy to get to, well lit, clean, very good service, and interesting and tasty food options.

Already gave Kudos to Cassie, the bartender in the cafe. Welcoming and friendly, she made my quick lunch very enjoyable and shared a ton about some of the local spots to hit. Turkey club on croissant was just about a perfect sandwich.

Breakfast may have been even better...and oh the cinnamon roll and toast!!! What a bakery!

The recipe for the Cheese soup comes from Helen Corbett who was the Chef in the late 1940's. She moved on in the 1950's to Neiman Marcus to become its chef. I first had the soup there. So when I came to the 1886 Grill last Monday, February 3; I was excited to see the very same recipe for my favorite cheese soup.It was as good as I could ever remember it.

The food is excellent!

You are absolutely right! The cheese soup is too good for us to keep to ourselves, so visit the 1886 Café & Bakery website to find the full recipe. Please stop by again and enjoy another hot, delectable bowl.

The breakfast was very good, the breads and pastries there are wonderful. Make sure to order the fried potatoes, its a variety of potatoes, cooked to perfection. We also had lunch there, The soup and salad combo can't be beat. The sweet potato and crab soup, and the cheese soup were tasty and filling. The grill salmon salad was perfect, it had candied pecans on it, oh so good.

The personal attention to each guest is lovely in this café that bakes their own pastries and breads. Lighting could be a bit better to read the paper when on your own. Very nice for a business breakfast.
