“Fantastic food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Ate here with friends for lunch on a Saturday and while it was very busy and we had to wait a while to be seated, the service was great. I had the Driskell burger and I have to say it's the best burger I've ever had hands down. Angus beef and wonderful cheese. I got fruit instead of fries and the fruit was beautiful and bountiful!

“An upmarket Cafe.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

A greasy spoon this is definitely not. More a cafe in the European Style. I haven't visited in the evening but a pleasant atmosphere for lunch or coffee and cake / snack in the morning or afternoon. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast but maybe its better now

“Wonderful desserts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Loved the chocolate cake: not a layer cake, but an old fashioned hunk of cake with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream on top. The pecan pie was good, but a little crisper than I like.

“1886 is a great reason to spend some time in the Driskill Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

What a surprise! We had a great lunch at 1886 as we were starving and had walked through the beautiful old hotel as sightseers, I would go back. We had to wait a bit for a table but the hotel lobby is a gorgeous period piece, the time will fly. We had the Lady Bird omelette and Tuna Sushi sandwich, both very good and not the usual. Definitely a foody, Chef Shannon walked through the dining room and stopped by many of the tables, it was nice to chat and hear his inspiration for the menu items.

“Keep Coming Back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

I ate here twice on a recent trip, and I found plenty to eat each time. My favorites were the salmon burger, the veggie flatbread, and the ahi sandwich. Good place to get a quick bite.
