“A little gem”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We were just out for a drive to explore the local area when we spied the Shady Grove and liked the casual, laid back look of the place. After parking and getting a better look at the layout it certainly turned out to be a really friendly spot with lots of well spaced tables in the outdoor patio area. Partly shaded by the trees, what more could you ask for on a lovely sunny Austin afternoon. A few beers for me and after a burger, fries and B.L.T. my wife and I were well pleased.Without exaggeration my burger was up with the best I have tasted during our holiday in different parts of Texas. Our server ( J Travis) was friendly and helpful but most of all the food was decent and the atmosphere very relaxing. I cannot see how you could go wrong at the Shady Grove - give it a try.

“Awesome place for an outdoor lunch”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

I love the atmosphere and the food. Any place where I can get a stellar sandwich / fries / beer at 11:30am and mixes it with a great outdoor patio area obviously has its priorities in order. Waitress was super friendly, place was bumping, service was orderly but at a nice relaxed, continuous pace. Really great place !

“Great Food & Drink!”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Our son took us here after visiting the Capital and TX State Museum. Short wait at the bar, but well worth it! The meatloaf was excellent; just like Mom's! We will return!

“Awesome Burgers in Austin”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Shady Grove has one of the best burgers in Austin. The burgers are smokey and come with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, red onion, pickles and hand-cut fries.
The place itself is always busy, but well worth the wait. The Staff is friendly and courteous and the prices are fair.
I would highly recommend you eat in their patio (as long as it isn't too hot!)

“Fantastic, don't miss it!”
Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

Shady Grove has been our favorite place to eat in Austin for 20 years - it's such a great atmosphere, fantastic food (get the nachos and a hippie sandwich!) and great waitstaff. We like to eat indoors (Texas van be hot) but the outdoor patio is fantastic. You won't regret a meal here!!
