Description: Shady Grove is located in the heart of 78704 in Austin, TX. Nestled under the shade of a tall pecan grove, we have been serving up Austin-inspired home cooking, cocktails, sunshine and smiles since 1992. In the months of April through September, Shady Grove hosts KGSR's Unplugged at The Grove, one of Austin's longest running free live music series, every Thursday night at 8pm.

The Shady Grove was recommended to us as a place we should patronize while in Austin. We're happy we followed that advice. The surroundings were a pleasant 'step back in time'; the menu is extensive and diverse; the prices are most reasonable; the service is good -- and the food is better than good. If we return to Austin we'll most assuredly return to the Shady Grove.

This is one of my favorite places in Austin! The patio is covered by a massive tree but you still get some sun...makes it very relaxing. The food is amazing! The green chili cheese fries are so good and I had the green chili chicken burrito which was also very good. My friend got the green chili chicken fried chicken and he said it was the best he has ever had. They have a great selection of food, from sandwiches to meatloaf and even hot dogs and hamburgers. Their drinks are really good as well!! Highly recommend for anyone in Austin

Wonderful place close to downtown and Barton springs pool to chill out with friends, drink and or eat. Live free music weekly too, staff very friendly, great choice of food and drinks at good prices. A venue we visit frequently whilst staying in Austin.

We ate at Shady Grove on a beautiful September afternoon and enjoyed everything about it. The service was excellent and efficient, the food was scrumptious and satisfying, and the atmosphere was fun and festive. It was one of those times where all parts equal a delightful whole. Bloody Marys, queso, chicken fried steak, Caesar salad were all great! I can't wait to go back.

What a great place, nice atmosphere, very "Austinish".  Food was wonderful, the service - GREAT!  Plan for a wait if you go at popular times, but worth the wait.  We were there during Chile harvest, yum!
Shady Grove is a place you can't miss if in Austin!
