“The Ultimate Auto Race - Formula 1 in Austin, TX”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

Wow! If you like cars and racing this is the place. This road-race track is beautiful and amazing. It is very new with great views and stands. It sits a ways from town, but near the airport. Unless you pony up for parking near the track it is a little hard to get to, as you must part off-site and ride a bus in. From there it is about a 1/2 mile walk up to the entrance to the track. It is worth every step. Nothing can be brought in except unopened water bottles. No food or other drinks. Once inside the food and drink as well as merchandise is as you might expect quite expensive.
But what the heck it is the ultimate car race: Formula 1. Crowd was amazing. Full of energy and truely international in flavor. There is plenty to do and see. We walked most of the way around the track just taking in the curves and route, wondering how it must feel to race a car on it. There is a large amphitheatre where music and entertainment were provided free. Also some lesser races like a Ferrari challenge race, as well as the drivers parade. Beautiful weather this year made for a great weekend. Attended a practice and qualifying day, and then the race on Sunday. I hope we can return next time as well.

“Nice Place, bad planning by Austin”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

If you are going here: Take your own water they charge 5 dollars a bottle. Nothing other than water or they will make you throw it away- no soda no juice. Eat before you come- corndogs and sausage are the cheapest eats at 10.00 and everything else is more expensive than that, a rip off. Park at offsite parking the traffic is outrageous little 2 lane roads surround the circuit. Leave very very early. we did but still were late due to the 2 mile per hour traffic for miles and the slow shuttles that were also stuck in traffic. Wear good walking shoes because their tram service is horrible and few and far between you will end up walking a long ways up and down hills.Take a small umbrella this place has absolutely NO shade! ridiculous! Bathrooms were almost all portapottys that were hot as sin inside. I liked the race but with all the problems getting in and out, just everything besides the race was horrible. I was actually surprised to see all the positive reviews.

“Luxury racing experience at Paddock Club Austin”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

I took in a couple of days of racing the weekend of the 2013 US Grand Prix at COTA. The Paddock Club lived up to expectations. Great views of the race and pit lane walk throughs were great for the hardcore race fan. The accommodations in the club were very nice. The club areas were open and inviting. The suites were nice, but the chairs were sort of flimsy. That's about the only negative to report. The staff was attentive and courteous. The food was very good with the selection being large. First course and dessert was brought to the table, while the entrees and sides were served buffet style. The entrees included salmon, Chilean sea bass, beef, lamb and an Indian dish each day. So whatever your taste you should be able to find something appetizing. A French red wine, a white wine, Heineken and Mumm Champagne were the alcoholic beverage choices. Parking was convenient with a shuttle service provided to take you inside the track. If you are expecting top notch service in a luxury racing experience, the Paddock Club is the way to go.

The track itself is great. A hill greets drivers off the starting line followed by a blind left turn. The track has changes in elevation, 15 turns of various types and enough straight aways to provide for some top end speed. Several areas are conducive to passing making for a very exciting F1 experience.

“Great place”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

This was my second visit for the F1 race weekend. Good improvements were made. The track is beautiful with a great race flow. The cars of course are just fantastic. The food is priced as expected, but it is very tasty. From burgers, to shrimp to salads, it was all fresh and delicious. There are plenty of race tickets to be bought upon arrival, at good prices. The shuttles from the Convention Center are a great value at $5 roundtrip per person. Its just a fantastic event. I can't wait to see what improvements they make next year. If you are a race fan, it is definelty worth going to see. Good headphones to protect your ears are a must. The walk up/down the hill seems to be a bit far. Maybe an option of taking a tram car ride would help. The lines would be very long, but you still have the option of walking. Its a BIG place, so know there will be alot of walking. The shuttles offered from the Grand Plaza to Turn 11 were great. They need their own part of the road though. After the race, the line for the shuttles was extremely long! You could walk it faster, I have faith they will improve this for next year. Its just ALOT of people to move at one time. Taking the shuttle bus is much better than driving in. There were several water fountains in the Grand Plaza only. More are needed. There were restrooms in the Grand Plaza too. There should be more built at the other turns too. I am confident this will happen. For only the second year, I think they have done a fabulous job and will only continue to improve. The racing is great and the staff are friendly and helpful.

“If you are a race fan - any kind - this needs to be on your bucket list.”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Visited the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) facility for the US F1 Grand Prix. This is a fantastic facility staffed by the friendliest folks anywhere - they all tried to be helpful. Views of the track are top notch. Restroom facilities and food concessions were top notch and plentiful. Highly recommend a visit.
