“Loved it all!”
Reviewed August 28, 2014

This was an unexpected gem! I was looking for a boutique type hotel in Austin and Lone Star Court was one of my options. Pictures were appealing so I booked. The ambience was so much more than the pictures could show. From the moment we checked in we were enchanted. From the dog in the lobby, to the inviting pool, to the fire pits (gas and wood burning) and live music each night we were there, it just exceeded what I hoped for .Loved the fridge in the room, loved the big barn door for the bathroom, loved the couch in our room and especially loved the 2 rocking chairs outside our door on the big, wide porch. We could sit there in the evening and see all the activity below and hear the music. So relaxing. The free breakfast in the morning hit the spot and grabbing a cocktail at night was a delight. Everyone was kind and helpful. We would recommend this hotel highly!I can't comment on how close or not close to the airport it may be as I had flown into San Antonio for business and had my husband join me. We rented a car and drove to Austin, pretty easy drive.

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor (only 3 floors) about in the middle and didn't hear anything extr...

The cool thing is Austin is only an hour from San Antonio, two and a half hours from Dallas and Houston! Being centralized allows for quick trips to the major cities. We are only 20 minutes from the airport and downtown. Thank you for visiting!

Great quirky hotel in a high class area next to a few upper class department stores and excellent restaurants and cafes.
The room is spacious and clean, service is efficient and friendly.
Tv and bathroom are excellent. Air conditioner works perfect. Theres a full size fridge stocked with a great variety of options and still room for my perishables.

I booked the Lone Star for a friend's bachelorette weekend and everything about the stay was wonderful! We all loved the unique style of the hotel and surrounding atmosphere. The location is a small drive from the airport or downtown but there is plenty of nearby shopping and options for food. The only complaint was the lack of air circulation in the room. With the southern heat and humidity this made it hard to keep a comfortable temperature at night. Wish we could have stayed longer with a lighter agenda!

Thank you for the review and I am happy you had fun with the bachelorette party. We do have ceiling fans for air circulation but if you need an additional fan, we will be happy to provide one. With the Texas heat on the verge of turning to cooler temps the evenings are going to be awesome outside!

We stayed four nights in mid-August while helping our daughter move to the city, and relied heavily on the positive ratings on TripAdvisor in deciding to book at the Lone Star. We were amazed at how spot-on the previous positive reviews were.

Our room was very fashionably furnished and extremely clean. The bar had good live music the nights we stayed, and the food both at happy hour and at breakfast was much better than average.

Our most positive comments are reserved for the employees. The front desk staff were always pleasant and helpful, and the folks in the bar were very friendly and even got to know us by name. In particular, the young woman who greeted us every morning for breakfast in the restaurant/bar area was one of the kindest and most memorable people we've met in a LONG time (I'm avoiding names to preserve privacy - they know who they are!).

We had the opportunity to visit the Driskill Hotel (downtown), which would typically be more to our taste. However, my wife and I agree that we will definitely stay at the Lone Star on our next visit.

This place was a lot of fun. I would not think that a hipster hotel with a country and western theme would work but it does. They combined rustic Texas architecture with mid century furniture and decor. The hotel has beautiful minimalist landscaping that looks like a river bed with plants and gravel. The hotel is also beautifully lit at night and you can always hear country music playing over the music system. The rooms have a 1950s style turquoise refrigerator in the rooms. Every room has a porch area with rocking chairs and a ceiling fan. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. In all the hotel was a great place to stay for a weekend in North Austin. It is close to the part of the Domain where all of the shops and restaurants are but not quite close enough to be walking distance.

Room Tip: There is live music coming from the bar at night. The rooms on the north side have more shade in th...

This was our 2nd stay at Lone Star Court and it did not disappoint. This time we had our kids with us and enjoyed the pool and grassy areas for them to play. Favorite part was evening in the Water Trough enjoying drinks and great live music. There is truly something for everyone here!

I can't believe the positive reviews. Location is strange, firepit in the middle of summer in Texas has not been thought out....smoky smell all over the hotel. People have to put towels under door to block smell.
AC rattles constantly in room.
Breakfast - just don't try to eat here if you are a vegetarian. Even if you aren't, hot dogs - yuck.
Wireless does not work - you can't be a business traveler and stay here.
Workout room - no towels or TV remote.
For a new hotel, there were many things broken in my room & never fixed after 4 days.
One of our party ran out of TP in the room & called for more. Someone came up w/ a box of kleenex and said they RAN OUT! Seriously, that is what they said. How about running to the store...
The staff is not prepared (or they weren't a month ago.)
