“Excellent Value for Money”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

We recently stayed here for three nights and the staff, especially John, made us feel very welcome and could not do enough for us. The rooms are big and clean and when there was an issue with our door, they offered to move us straight away. Breakfast was fantastic and much better than similar hotels, with fresh fruit salad and different hot choices every day.

This is a good choice if you are economizing. We were on the side away from the freeway and it was quiet. It was conveniently situated for us.

Breakfast was nice with fresh fruit and even a veggie frittata which was very good, if you were early enough you got some. Otherwise, no. When it was gone it was gone and there were always scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hash browns, waffles too sweet by themselves, let alone with syrup, cereal, yogurt, danish or mini muffin, OJ, etc.

The manager was very nice. We had no pen in our room and after looking for one, he gave me his so I would not have to wait. Very pleasant person.

Housekeeping gave us new coffee cups everyday to replace used ones. No water cups were ever replaced. Ugh!

I would not recommend staying here if you have neck or shoulder issues as the pillows are half the size of a standard pillow. I did not enjoy that.

Our room was ADA accessible, but it was still a bathtub, not a shower....which could be a big concern.

Also, if you are spending a lot of time in the room, be warned, everything is chocolate brown, the bedspread, the carpet, the furniture. There is a pretty aqua blue wall behind the bed and on the wall behind the bathroom sink. If that was on all the walls it would have made for much more cheerful and pleasant surroundings. The valance over the window was brown/gold. Their effort to fit into NOW was a runner across the bed with gray and black on it which went with nothing else in the room. The hallways were "swine" ( a bad pinky beige).

We set up this trip in advance & were driving a long distance. We arrived early and were resting in the parking lot when the gentleman from the desk cane out to let us know our room was ready. He knew we were exhausted from driving all night & gave us a 3rd floor room and an end unit. It was quiet, and away from the usual hallway commotion. The king size bed was a plus!
Affordable rooms at less than $90.00 a night. Always shop different sites for pricing!
The staff was friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the hot breakfast everyday with many choices & variety that changed daily.
It is priced right, new, clean, comfortable, and overall just a great place to stay. Would definitely stay again! They also have a pool and workout room.
We were also very happy with the location with easy access to shopping, restaurants, attractions, and friends!

Room Tip: We liked the 3rd floor on the South End.

Great 4-night stay here! Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Rooms are very well insulated for sound. We never heard a sound from anyone else. Breakfast was good - waffle-maker that made waffles in the shape of Texas, fruit, yogurt, biscuits, pastries, cereal, and seasoned potatoes. Always had 2 egg dishes - plain scrambled eggs and also scrambled eggs with add-ins; some mornings it would be ham and cheese in the eggs and other mornings it would be peppers and onions or spinach and mushrooms in the eggs - all yummy! Meat selection also changed daily, either sausage patties, sausage links, or bacon. Only have 4 minor complaints:

1) It would be nice to have salt and pepper packs available at breakfast. There were no salt and pepper shakers on the tables - just one salt and pepper shaker on the buffet.

2) The toilets in the guest rooms had no lids on them. Personally I like to close the lid before flushing the toilet.

3) A robe hook or something else to put a towel on would be nice in the bathroom because the bathroom counter is so far away from the tub that a short person like me has to get completely out of the tub to reach a towel.

4) We had to ask at the front desk for toilet paper because there was no spare roll in the bathroom - just the roll that was on the holder.

Despite those 4 hiccups I'd definitely stay there again. Check in staff and breakfast area attendants were all very nice.

Very expensive $184 for an average motel
No baby crib
Average normal motel, there's nothing terrible but nothing special to make me go there again, just one of tens of motels around Austin

On the good side:
Clean
Good water pressure on the shower
The staff a the breakfast quickly refilled food after a mob of families (US locals) devastated the buffet station taken piles of full plates t(literally, they piled 3 plates each) to their rooms
Comfortable beds

Average:
Breakfast – enough to call it a buffet, but nothing special.
Room size
Noisy but not too much (but that’s to be expected being next to a highway)
Location, it’s a bit far from the city and traffic is quite bad to get to Austin

Bad
Price - $184 per night per room for an average road motel … quite expensive
No baby crib
Reception staff, we asked what is to see or do and they recommended not to go to the city due to the ongoing festival (?) then said there was no much else to do. They had no idea whatsoever of what to recommend to visitors (and you work on the reception of a motel?)
Minimum toiletries in the bathroom

Room Tip: Expect some background noise from the highway (as in most road-side motels)

We chose this hotel for our weekend getaway and it exceeded our expectations. Within budget, easy to locate, clean, spacious for two and friendly staff. We stayed for two nights in a King Suite. The bed was comfortable and we got a great night's rest. I personally enjoyed the white noise machine built into the AC system.
The bathroom was sufficient for two. Plenty of counter space and hot water. The adjustable shower head was great for people who enjoy a softer or more intense water pulse.
Breakfast was a great assortment of grains, protein, dairy and fruit. I especially liked the Texas shaped waffle maker. We were visiting Austin and this hotel is about 20 mins from the Capital center. Plenty of restaurants and shopping up and down 35, in close proximity. We visited and did some shopping at the outlets of Round Rock. We had a great time, wonderful and cozy stay and would stay here again!

Our king suite was large and very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. The kids enjoyed a swim in the pool. Not sure if I was just exhausted from traveling, but we had an excellent sleep. It seemed like one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. As you can tell by my reviews, we have stayed in a LOT of Choice Hotels, and this was probably the best breakfast we have had! There were PEPPERS in the eggs! Thank you! One complaint would be lack of a hot tub, but as one reviewer pointed out, it is difficult to even find an indoor, heated pool in a Texas hotel. Secondly, although the hotel is conveniently located when traveling on the interstate, I did feel a bit sketched out by the dark parking lot & area of town when we were unloading/organizing the vehicle. But we didn't get broken into, so I guess it was all good. ;)
