One word - magnificent!

We had a terrific meal and a terrific time at Lenoir. It is a small space with comfortably close tables. As noted by others, the waitstaff are superb, extraordinarily knowledgeable and casually conversant, without being intrusive.

The four course menu is unique and the marriage of favors were quite creative. Was that a hint of lime in the corn ravioli with chili aioli and quest fresco? You bet! The redfish was presented in a wonderfully spiced broth, with a Middle Eastern flavor profile. And the green mole that accompanied the quail was nicely accented by a hint of curry.

We found the menu portions not too small and perfectly satisfying. The wine list is reasonably priced and features unique limited availability offerings. We had the 2013 Occhipinti SP68 Bianco, a delightful wine, of which Lenoir only received a couple of cases.

If you live in ATX, or visit here, don't miss this spot - you'll definitely be rewarded.

We're looking forwards to our next reward!

“Great Wine Pairing”
Reviewed August 3, 2014 via mobile

We had the four course fixed price menu on a Sunday evening with the wine pairings. The food was excellent and very seasonal, but the wine parings were out of this world. Our waiter was very enthusiastic and informative and the four wines paired with the courses were very innovative and off the beaten path. This is a small place that can offer limited quantity wine selections. We were impressed with the spot on choices. The best was saved for last --- a very light panama cotta with peaches and coconut paired with modestly sweet Tokaji wine pairing. It was wonderful. Service was casual but very genuine --- the waitstaff really new about and cared about what they were serving. Lenoir is a stand out in a foodie haven.

“Sets a high bar”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

If you know the Austin food scene (and stay away from restaurants around the convention center) you will know that standards are high.Judged against great restaurants anywhere,Lenoir is outstanding.Small (32 covers) with seats at tables, shared tables and at the bar.First good leading indicator is that the location is on South1st street ,amongst establishments that emphasize food rather than theater. It gets even better when you notice that no one is dressed up and the ambiance is warm and informal.By the time you have interacted with the clearly passionate and well informed staff you are pretty sure this is going to be special. The menu is short, 3or 4 appetizers, fish dishes,Maine and desserts. The fixed price menu ($38 in July '14) allows for 3 selections(any combinations) and additional courses are $10.The food is sophisticated without being fussy gimmicky or pretentious, the focus is on the best seasonal local ingredients,( menu changes every 2 months) and on combinations of flavors (often with an Asian element) that may be unusual but work perfectly.Portion size is just right as is the rhythm of the meal.Wine selection is good and staff knowledgable and enthusiastic about It.Certainly one of the best meals we have had recently.

“Top notch food”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

This place deserves all the accolades it receives. Perfect amount of food. Creative presentation without it being over the top ridiculous. Goat, frog legs, octopus, squid, curry, all in one night. Almond cake for dessert is amazing. Only one dish fell flat which was the chèvre based dessert. Go to this restaurant soon. Small, cozy and very friendly.

“Unnecessarily small portions”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

On a SUNDAY evening we had the 4 course table d'oeuvre meal. Every dish was excellent and left us craving for more. And that was the problem. The portions were way too small. There was no more--unless we ordered three meals for two people.
