Loved the live music that could be heard from various establishments we passed. And what great stores if you're looking to buy a pair of cowboy/cowgirl boots. Good prices too...some were under $200.

Loved the food truck "trailer park" and the excellent shopping and dining of this district. A bit far to walk from downtown on a hot day, but well worth going.

The SoCo District has become a very cool place for locals and visitors. Great restaurants, shops and clubs --- but all of a truly Austin vibe. You can get anything from a yummy slice of pizza (at Home Slice) to some seriously refined food as well as Amy's ice cream --- where the hardest part is deciding which of the many flavors you want to try.

It is a nice walk from downtown hotels. Walking was recommended if you drink alcoholic beverages. At about 2.5 (of 4 something miles) the restaurants and bars dwindled. I did not see anything to justify continuing the walk.

Love the restaurants and little shops and the general scene of the South Congress area. One of the things I like most about Austin.
