Lots of eclectic shopping and a wide variety of restaurants. Loved Uncommon Goods... I could spend hours there.

Loved spending Saturday afternoons on SoCo, looking in the little shops and eating at the great restaurants. Parkings was never an issue when I was there.

We were told that if we only had 36 hours to spend in Austin we needed to take on walk and try to have lunch or dinner in the SoCo District. If you have been to Greenwich Village in New York City and imagined what it would be like if it was transplanted to Texas, you might get an idea of the flavor of this area. There are blocks with food trucks that sell everything from cupcakes, to every imaginable kind of taco. And there are also all kinds of very cool tourist shops selling everything from cowboy boots to monkey suits! The other thing that's nice about this area, is that while it attracts tourists, there is also something very down to earth about this area. I am grateful to my friends who urged me to check out the SoCo District, it was one of the nicest ways to spend a few hours in Austin!

The SoCo district is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. I walked up one side and down the other, in and out of all the shops. Everyone is amazingly friendly - I was greeted at every store I entered. There's an interesting block of truck-type eateries: one made from an old schoolbus, a cupcake shop in a silver Gulfstream and many more. For food everything is available - lots of healthy choices. Great vintage clothing stores.

We were excited to visit SoCo but aside from some fabulous restaurants, there's just a bunch of honky tonk store selling cowboy boots and Mexican chachkis. Not worth it. No place to park either.
