Pure texture is the best way I can put it. Lot of things to see of so many different "textures". It is a must do, if you haven't. You will have a lot to talk about when you leave. I personally Love it!

the state Capitol is on the north side, then hotels, banking and some shopping. I think the Congress street bridge has the largest colony of bats in Texas, it's a sight to see the bats emerge in the evening. South Congress has some original shopping and excellent restaurants. A city bus goes up and down this street and is convenient if you don't want to walk.

South of the bridge is all the weird fun shopping and eateries. Park and walk around! I got a haircut and checked out Allen's Boots and the other clothing and Antique stores. Check out Jo's Coffee Shop and take your picture by the 'I love you so much' wall.

Congress Ave has everything from the quirky shops and restaurants of South Congress to the more sophisticated buildings and restaurants in heart of downtown Austin

South Congress Avenue, known to locals as SoCo is one of Austin's most hip and famous districts. Bars, music venues, restaurants, art galleries, and gift shops make SoCo the perfect destination. SoCo is home to The Continental Club, which is well known for hosting some of Austin's most famous acts. Lucy in Disguise is Austin's "it spot" for costumes and you'll want to spend some time browsing all of the shops along SoCo. Hit up Tesoro to grab amazing and unique gifts and housewares.
