You know the bar is a good one when it's ALWAYS busy. We got great service by the load of staff and eventually found a place to have our pint. Very good beers and they are even more knowledgeable. Didn't gets chance to eat there which is a shame but you know it's excellent.

This was a great spot for eating lunch on the outdoor terrace on a spring afternoon while on vacation. All the sandwiches looked well crafted, and of course served on freshly baked bread. Mine was delicious, as was the bite of my boyfriend's that he shared too! The building has great character too overlooking the babbling bit of river, and I can imagine going there regularly if I were a local!

Went there with friends for a beer and dinner. The place was really loud, but to be expected, I guess; booze, food, young crowd. The food was okay, nothing too special. But, what was special was our waitress, Nicole. Polite, solicitous, efficient, putting up with all of our requests. Give that girl a raise...

Likes: The walnut levain. It is now our go-to bread. We keep several loaves in the freezer and use the bread for sandwiches (both open and closed), toast, and snacking. Easy Tiger's $5 breakfast (choice of baked good and small coffee) is a morning commute treat. Great plus: the relaxing backyard beer garden. It shows you what Austin will be like when the rest of Waller Creek is improved. They permit dogs on leashes. We recently had a wonderful experience on our way to adopt a "Hard-Luck Hound" in Austin. We snacked on sandwiches at Easy Tiger with Dog #1, then headed to the animal shelter to adopt Dog #2. A great day. Food, beer, and wine are all good.

[The name "Easy Tiger" tickled me, so I asked if the emphasis is "Whoa! Easy there tiger!" or (lilting) "I'm a happy, easy tiger." It's the former. Slow down, relax...take it easy, tiger.]

Yikes! No yikes. We like Easy Tiger, down to its fun logo, reminiscent of Tiger Balm. One tip: Easy Tiger is on the first block of West Pecan/6th Street (off I-35). As with many downtown Austin eateries, parking can be a challenge. If you are coming into Austin specifically to eat here, just keep in mind that - depending on the day of the week and time of day - you might have to park in a garage or circle the block several times.

We stopped by for a "snack" around lunch time and were not disappointed!! The mixed meats platter was delicious! Who'd have thought a bakery would have such delicious meats! The pan au chocolate were divine. Pretzel and beer cheese...great! We also had the pastrami sandwich and it was excellent. Chai lattes were wonderful. It costs a bit more than normal for lunch but the quality was well worth it!! Definitely coming back.
