“Best in town, every time”
Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

We are "regulars" and they always do a fantastic job in all areas. They handle our special requests, from vegetarian to a unique bottle of champagne.

“Top of the heap!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

You will not find TexMex or BarBQ here! Go almost anywhere else in Austin if that's what you are looking for. This is a high end fish and steak restaurant. It's pricey and worth every penny. Drinks are expensive but generous. The food is excellent. I recently took 2 "foodie" out of town guests there; one had fish, one had steak and both declared their food perfectly prepared and attractively plated. Waiters and busmen are efficient without being cloyingly present. Remember, however, you are in TX. Restaurants and conversations are loud and portions are large. One of my guests said in his opinion the portions were too big, but, as I told him, that is what is expected in TX. No NYC medium to small plates here. Everything is large or it doesn't make it with the locals. My one criticism is that the music is too loud, but then without the music, you'd be listening to all the shouted conversations taking place around you, so perhaps the music is the better option. Conveniently you can reserve via Open Table.

“Great Bar for Dinner!”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

I love to go in and have dinner at the bar. Great atmosphere and bartenders. I always get perfect recommendations for what to eat and drink with it.

“Perfection in an Inviting Atmosphere”
Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

Hosted a rehearsal dinner here so we feasted on several dishes. Crab cake appetizer was pure crab, incredibly fresh for a land-locked town. Wild mushroom and goat cheese crostini melted in your mouth. Lobster and shrimp bisque was unique with a hint of Cajun flavor like a gumbo or étouffée. Fuji Apple Salad paired apples with French green beans, candied walnuts and blue cheese, crisp to perfection, and dressed with a citrus vinaigrette that complimented the rest of the ingredients well.

Entrees were the classic filet mignon and salmon, both cooked to order for 32 people, with perfect timing. Sides were served family style, consisting of asparagus with hollandaise, broccolini with Lemon and garlic, a ginormous twice baked potato, and truffled mac n cheese - some of the best you'll ever have.

The wines paired perfectly with dinner, a nice Malbec blend, and a white Bordeaux.

Be sure to save room for desserts. They are absolutely fabulous. The Hot Bananas Foster Butter cake flamed with rum table side, and the Hot Chocolate Godiva Cake should not be missed. Find someone to share these so you can justify having one of each!

Service was phenomenal. The private dining room is sized just right to make for a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

Definitely choose Eddie V's Arborerum for your private dining event. They will make you look brilliant!!!!

“Special place for a special occasion”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Was there with family to celebrate a special occasion. You surely need a reservation as it seems to be a popular destination . Decor was pretty chic and upmarket. Quickly learnt that price matched quality in service and taste. Dan our waiter explained the menu with expertise and was there to guide us through the entire meal. Only disappointment was that I was vegetarian and could not try their much touted steak and seafood.
Was still pleased to have my Au gratin potatoes, Sugar snaps with portabellas and toasted baby beets with candied walnuts. Wine list was exhaustive with a tasteful selection of excellent wines. Desert was complimentary and delicious. Was a great dining experience for a memorable occasion.
