This cafe has a nice, warm atmosphere, and quick friendly service. I ordered a french toast with peaches and ice cream which was very tasty.

“Creative and tasty”

Unusual Asian fusion, mostly Vietnamese food, creative drinks. Quaint and quirky, laid back, friendly service.

“One of the best places in Austin”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

This is a great place to eat, especially in SoCo, which is fully of over-hyped places. We came here for weekend brunch, an had wonderful Banh Mi and Pho. Very good service, and a very nice, relaxed atmosphere.

“Hip Vietnamese”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

This is a great option when eating in Austin. Vietnamese style food is served in a casual cafe style setting.
They also can make real espresso style coffee here. One of the better cafe latte experiences so far in the USA.
I also recommend you try their punch. this is also above average with some really interesting flavour combinations.Perfect for the hot summer in Austin
The service here is also extremely good. The waitress discussed the food and drinks and made thoughtful suggestions that were well considered. the staff really know what they are doing.
On the downside. The baking is not up to true vietnamese standards. The bread of the Bahn Mi was US style rather than light and crunchy Vietnamese style. The eclairs were also a little disappointing for exactly the same reason. The choux pastry was chewy rather than light.
Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended. I will be back here next time I come to Austin.

“Lovely!!!”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Elizabeth Street Cafe in South Austin is a lovely little spot for brunch. It's the perfect marriage of French and Vietnamese cuisine, serving perfectly brewed coffee, savory pork Banh Mi and Bun, and house-made macaroons for dessert.

Parking can be a little tough here, and we usually try to find a spot across the street. Even on the most crowded Sundays, the wait is rarely longer than 20 minutes. Occupy yourself with a freshly baked pastry or a carafe of champagne cocktail.

Outdoor seating is available and is dog-friendly. Misting fans help cut the heat in the summer.

Elizabeth Street Cafe offers two menus. The first is always available, while the second is offered on Sunday for Brunch. They're very similar, with the second adding some eggs and other traditional breakfast items to the restaurants usual fare. Very good!

The Banh Mi offerings are just stellar. They bake their own rice flour baguettes for the sandwiches in house. Several varieties are available, including pork belly, shrimp, etc. It's refined Vietnamese street food done well!! We can never decide which one to order, and always end up ordering several to share :) The brunch Banh Mi with sausage and egg is really tasty!

The Bun, rice noodles topped with fresh veggies and savory grilled pork, is always a good option. It's al elegant take on simple vietnamese cuisine.

Don't forget to order dessert! The macaroons are delicious!
