“Pitch & Putt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

The shortest of the Barton Creek courses. And, the largest greens. But, oh those greens can be decieving. Local knowledge goes a long way here. Lots of fun to play. Clever hole design and a fun back 9 that features 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's and 3 par 5's.

“A good course, but the least favorite amongst those at Barton Creek”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2011

The Crenshaw course was our group's least favorite of the four courses at Barton Creek. While well-designed and pretty, by the back nine some of the holes started to feel repetitive. Several times, people asked, "didn't we play this hole already"?

The greens on the course are quite severe, both large and undulating. Two putts are difficult, three putts are frequent, and four putts were not unheard off. Even when shots landed within a few feet of the hole, it was not guaranteed that you could get down in one or two putts. Several of our folks four putted from three feet.

The course itself is pretty wide open, so it's not a bad place to play your first round on arrival. Staff are very friendly and this course is the closest to the hotel of the four courses.

As a standalone course somewhere, this would be a good one. But compared to the Fazio courses, this one's the step-child.

I have to give credit to Barton Creek. Despite the terrible drought in Texas, the course is in beautiful shape.

Be aware. Food and drink on the course is very expensive.
