We recently spent an evening downtown in Austin and found a good price on a room at this hotel. I am an Ambassador's Club member at this hotel chain, so my room was upgraded and included a gift of fruit and cookies, which is a nice touch. Staff was polite and attentive. The rooms were very clean.
There are other downtown hotels that cost quite a bit more than this hotel, and I think this location is absolutely perfect. Whether you want to venture out to 6th Street, the capitol or Ladybird Lake, you can walk easily from this hotel.
We did not use the restaurant facility, so I can't comment on it's quality. We did, however, have many fine restaurants a short walk from the hotel.
All in all, shop around for a good price in downtown Austin. If this hotel comes up on your search, know it is a fine value among the many choices available.

Room Tip: If you travel consistently, it will be worth looking into the Ambassador's program. You must pay an annual fee, but the upgrades and perks can be worth it.

Very personable, pleasant & accommodating staff, especially appreciated the hospitality of Guest Service Agent, Jamiliah Pascal. Beautifully elegant & comfortable Southern hotel, centrally located for best downtown experience - & the Tito's gift bag didn't hurt either ;-)

I did not expect such a tiny room in Austin. I understand the hotel rooms being small in New York, Paris or anywhere that the price of real estate is high but Austin? You do not have any room in the bathroom to leave your stuff. No where to store anything in the room not even your luggage. We had three rooms there so it was not an anomaly. All three were very tiny. The staff are super friendly and the location is good.

Room Tip: Use the second floor bar. The lobby level bar staff are not as friendly . I think the lobby level bar is not managed by the hotel and not as nice.

I can imagine how frustrating it must have been for you and your traveling companions to be in smaller rooms. It's true, some of our rooms are small, as this is an historic property, however we also have many larger guestrooms, so I encourage you to request a larger one on your next stay! Thank you for sharing your comments.

This hotel never fails to live up to expectations. Our 3rd stay here and after the re-fit earlier this year it is better than ever. The staff are without exception friendly, helpful and happy. Lovely environment throughout and the rooms/suites are exceptional and spotlessly clean. Beds are so comfortable with loads of pillows that make you just want to spend the day in your room!

Room Tip: rooms with a view on Congress are great

We're pleased you like our newly-renovated product! We are so proud of everything, from the lobby to the guestrooms. In fact, we were voted IHG's Renovation of the Year! So, your survey made our day....thank you.

This is a good hotel in Austin, Texas. Hotel staff were very pleasant, attentive, and accommodating. The building is somewhat older, but the interior is well maintained. Some of the rooms have partial views (you can see a little over half the frontage) of the capital building, which are particularly impressive after dark. The room I stayed in was a suite and very large and comfortable. An iron and ironing board was available. The TV was equipped with DirectTV, with a good channel selection. Electric outlets were inset on the side of the desk and a nightstand by the bed. The bed also had a remote control panel for room lighting that was convenient. The king-sized bed had at least 12 pillows, which I find really annoying. There's no place to put them to stay clean and it seem like a waste to throw them on the floor. The bathroom was well furnished and had a very nice selection of convenience items. The WiFi was not complementary, nor was breakfast, which I find consistent, but strange for higher priced hotels. There was free coffee in the lobby in the morning.

Room Tip: Some corner rooms on the upper floors will have good views of the capitol building

Thank you for the great feedback from your recent stay with us. I agree, those pillows can be a bit troublesome at times, but I'm glad overall you found our property acceptable. Thank you for your business and take care.
