Enjoyed a great weekend in Austin at this newly renovated property.
The best part is the positive and friendly attitude of the Hotel staff.
Veronica at the CLUB LOUNGE was most impressive.
Her gesture of serving the morning breakfast was a great way to start the day.

We stayed for one night in Austin during a 10day vacation in TX. We had a toddler with us and liked everything about this hotel and the staff. I always hate valet parking in the street because we have a lot of luggage and a toddler and I usually feel rushed. Not this time. Valet was friendly, understood I had to manage a toddler and took care of our stuff. Check in was nice. We felt welcomed. Marissa at the front desk was really nice and talked to our son and offered him a toy which made him so happy and kept him busy for a while in the room.
Thomas brought all the bags to our room and looked genuinely happy to help us.
The hotel looks great. We had a great room, well decorated and perfectly clean.
At our return for dinner from the restaurant in the city we let our son run in the lobby to burn some energy (we were the only customer there at the time) and the staff started playing with our son. And later they had cookies and milk delivered to our room.
All these little attentions made us feel welcomed in this hotel. The price really reasonable for luxury hotel. This was our favorite hotel during our 10 day vacations in

That was a wonderful review, thank you so much! I had to smile as I read it, as I know exactly how great our staff is but it's always special when a guest acknowledges it as well. I do hope we are able to welcome you back one day! Thank you again, and take care.

Enjoyed a last minute trip to Austin. Great customer service Valet and Front Desk wise. Nothing stood out in both a bad or good way. Rooms are setup roomy with spacious open layout. Alot of extra little things setup as a courtesy in the room. Fridge is high-tech for the mini bar but at-least it offers a little space for your own drinks.

The Intercontinental is centrally located in Austin. It is one of the older hotels in Austin and has been beautifully renovated. The lobby area is expansive and has a grand staircase leading to a mezzanine with a large but cozy bar.

The service in this hotel is wonderfully friendly and welcoming. We had a car which we valet parked. The doormen and bellmen were extraordinarily friendly, and the valet service was very rapid. We never had any delays in getting our car, and we used the service liberally. The check-in staff were equally welcoming. We were in Austin to visit children and grandchildren and wanted to use the hotel pool. Unfortunately, the pool was being renovated but the hotel had made arrangements with nearby hotels to use their pools. The lady who checked us is (I think her name was Marissa) offered to make arrangements for us and our family members to use another pool. It made us feel very welcome at this hotel.

Our room was quite spacious and well decorated. The bathroom was small but beautifully decorated.

All in all, we had a wonderful weekend stay at this Intercontinental hotel.

We are so pleased you chose the InterContinental as your "base" for visiting family, and equally as pleased that you found our property and staff so accommodating! We take great pride in our guest service, but it goes hand in hand with property amenities as well, so it is always terrific when a guest takes time to let us know have been successful! I will be sure to share your comments with everyone, but particularly the valet and front desk agents. Thank you again and take care.

Arrived late on Wednesday evening. Reception was cheery and efficient. Made me feel welcomed. Rom was perfect. All the staff were super. Good rooms, lots of tv channels and in-room technology. No complaints at all. It is an older hotel but looks like it got a good upgrade and there are no bad orders or dingy corners. Good location as well.

Room Tip: Get a corner suite if you can.

The staff at this hotel are terrific. Very nice, competent and caring. But that is the only good part. This is not a four star hotel. It really isn't a three star hotel. There is no restaurant. There is an Intercontinental frequent guest club, but if you don't belong, no meals for you. Seriously, there is no restaurant in this hotel. There is no parking. Valet is good. But that is your only, expensive, choice. The hotel is old, so the rooms probably vary. But, for our two stays, the rooms (both times) were tiny and quite shabby. On one stay, there wasn't even a headboard on the bed. Nor was there a comforter. Just sheets and a blanket. The rooms, both times, were perhaps 150 square feet. The climate control is non existent. Sometimes it is cold, mostly it is hot. The noise from Sixth Street is very much a part of your night. You should bring earplugs, or you will be able to hear the lyrics of the bands quite clearly. Bathrooms not large enough to even close the door if you are standing in it. Certainly not large enough for two people to use. The sheets and towels are of modest quality. Not four star. Not Holiday Inn standard. Something lower. Again, these are nice people. But they aren't being honest by claiming that this is a four star business hotel. And, watch your bill. Our experience is that "miscellaneous fees" of $80 creep onto the bill. The front desk is happy to remove the fees, and apologetic - when you point them out. But, strange that it happens more than once. Similar things happen with charges from the bar (which is quite nice, with nice staff, but questionable billing practices). Really too bad. We forgave the first trip, thinking that we had an unusual experience. But after the second time, we won't be staying here again.

Thank you for the feedback from your recent stay with us. I do apologize for what appears to have been a most frustrating stay. I'm sorry you were not made aware of the in-house restaurant, the Roaring Fork. While not owned by our hotel, it is easily accessed (with direct entrance from our lobby) and our guests may charge meals/beverages to their room when dining there. Breakfast is indeed provided at our property for a fee, again, my apologies if there was a misunderstanding. With regard to valet parking, it's true we are valet only however there is independent parking close by if you choose to use it. Again, my sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced and thank you for providing your comments.

The SFA (as they told me in their Tweet) is a very nice upscale hotel in the heart of Downtown Austin. Convenient for 6th Street and the Capitol. The staff were excellent at all points, very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is more European in style and all fittings are of high quality.

The pool was undergoing refurbishment at the time but the area with the gym was very nicely done.

All in all, an excellent stay. Well done to all the staff,

Thank you for those very generous remarks! While it's true we have a privileged location next or close to so many great Austin venues, we are equally as proud of our wonderful staff and the consistent, great guest service they provide. We appreciate the fact that you found both aspects acceptable, and hope we are able to welcome you back very soon!
