“Well worth the visit”
Reviewed May 6, 2010

Great museum to learn more about the Texas revolution and the history of the state. The top floor gets a little boring when it gets into the history of oil in the state (especially since it is sponsored by Exxon). But it if you have time I would make the visit.

“Much bigger then i thought, can easily spend a whole day there”
Reviewed April 17, 2010

I was nicely surprised by how much there was to do. Can easily spend a whole day there. The imax was very nice, we saw The Alps (now I want to go to Switzerland). There was a great band that played in the lobby when we were there, people were two steppin' right in the lobby. All and all a very nice day!

“Begin your Austin trip here!”
Reviewed January 22, 2010

See the IMAX movie first, then tour the museum. Glad we stopped here our first day in town as we had a better appreciation of things during our visit. Set the right tone for our "Texas" trip! Educational, entertaining, and first class. Visited August 2009.

“don't miss this fascinating look into the history of Texas and texans.”
Reviewed October 18, 2009

While in Austin it will be worth your time to include the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in your plans. It has more than the normal historical documents - it has the essence and enthusiasm of Texas. The Imax theater experience is a good beginning to your visit. Get $5.00 off admission just up the street at the Visitor's Center next to the State Capitol before you go.

“concise and interesting”
Reviewed August 23, 2009

Gorgeous and relatively new museum located in downtown Austin. Very informative and you should allow 3-4 hours to view everything. Numerous free 10 minute videos throughout exhibits and 20 minute movie that costs a mere $3 to see that is fun for the kids, also. Highly recommend and easy walking distance to Univ. of Texas campus, state capitol, and tons of restaurants. Austin's only IMAX theater is located in same building also if someone in your group would prefer a movie instead of learning about the great state of Texas!
