I enjoy reading the history and seeing the interactive displays. Not a huge museum but it tells the story of Texas in a fun and engaging manner. Littler kids mightget bored because there isn't a lot of interactive areas.

“The go-to spot for Texas history and grandeur...”
Reviewed January 9, 2012

I love this building and I'm so proud of our history. This place has it all if you want to spend an afternoon learning, having fun and even relaxing.
The IMAX was the first in Austin but it's not all that draws you to the museum. Walk the lobby and imagine all that space in old Texas and you're magically there. I missed taking my bridal picture here but dangit I plan to take our anniversary pics!
The Star of Texas theatre is interactive and fun. Watch out for those snakes!
Dine in their cafe and enjoy the scenery of state government outside the window.
Walk among historical facts and items on its four floors.
Perfect for tourists, kids, grandparents, students and anyone who loves something new!

“A Texas museum for all ages.”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

I've taken my 80+ year old parents and my pre-teen grandkids and everyone enjoys this museum. It's a lovely building, the displays are all interesting, it gives you insights on how Texas has evolved to today, and its easy to get to and park.

Three stories of Texas History. Nice exhibits. Some kid friendly areas. IMAX movies. Have been three times and expect to be there again in 2012.
