Absolutely try the tasting menu. If you are going to eat at a restaurant of the caliber and detail of Congress, you owe it to yourself to try the full tasting.
Each dish has so many components that it would take a novel to describe them. They are eye appealing and full of flavors that dance across your tastebuds. I love the complexity, and intricacy that you don't necessarily see at a lot of other fine dining restaurants and that can be lost on even the most savy patron if you don't stop and observe each dish and give it the attention it deserves. The other important thing to note is that Chef Bull is no stranger to the dinning room and its wonderful to see him interact with guests. The carrot ravioli changed my life and it will change yours too, if you let it.
The wine list is well written and full of personal favorites. The staff also gives great recommendations, so ask them anything.
Lastly, Hannah the Maitre'd and Hostess Extraordinaire is amazing and personable and a warm welcome when you first walk in and say goodbye.
Only drawback is the dinning room is a bit plain and patrons can wear jeans, neither of which are necessarily a negative, but more of a stylistic preferenece.
