This weekend was my second visit to Franklin BBQ. Second time I made a specific effort to get to Austin from Dallas in time to stand in line and wait for brisket. And the second time I was reminded how awesome brisket can be. It is seriously like no other brisket you'll have anywhere. The ribs are terrific, the sausage rocks. But both are the ugly cousin to the greatness that is the brisket.
Both times I've been Aaron is at the counter cutting the meat and chatting with everyone. It makes the experience that much better.
Don't let the long wait keep you away. Suck it up and get in line early. Buy some beer while you wait and make some new friends. It is a great way to spend a few hours. Your patience will be rewarded!
