“Outrageous!”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Our first night in Austin was a Wednesday. We visited 6th street and wondered to ourselves "What's the hype"? No craziness at all. It was busy, but mainly with the business crowds. We visited The Blind Pig because of the music we heard coming from the rooftop. Rooftop atmosphere was awesome and the Bud Light was in an Orange can. Go UT. I loved this joint, I loved the entertainment even more. Clay Campania, kid is a STUD and can play the guitar. He has a swagger about him that just draws you in. Smooth, soulful, raspy, pure enjoyment. If you can find this dude playing in the area I recommend you go see him. Now back to 6th street. So Wednesday not a big deal, pretty kickback. Went back on Saturday around 11:30 PM, Holy Crap! Totally different experience, one I could not wait to get out of. Loud, obnoxious drunks, with no sense of responsibility or well...sense. Not impressed with the weekend crowd, but would say it's a must see once in your life. Just don't hang out too long.

“Honky Tonk Heaven”

This place is why Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World. You can find almost any kind of music...well, not classical or opera or ballet...right on 6th Street or its surrounds.

“"live music capital of the world?"”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

If you enjoy really bad live music and having to tolerate hundreds of loud and obnoxious underage drunks, from drag worms to UT preppies, All seem to be equal opportunity imbibers. Very little really commercial music ever comes out of this place.

“If you are over 25, avoid~!”

This looks like a really fun place for college kids who want cheap drinks. We arent stick in the muds, but the drunk kids roaming around reminded us of Mardi Gra! There are better spots for 25+ crowd.
