Our first night in Austin was a Wednesday. We visited 6th street and wondered to ourselves "What's the hype"? No craziness at all. It was busy, but mainly with the business crowds. We visited The Blind Pig because of the music we heard coming from the rooftop. Rooftop atmosphere was awesome and the Bud Light was in an Orange can. Go UT. I loved this joint, I loved the entertainment even more. Clay Campania, kid is a STUD and can play the guitar. He has a swagger about him that just draws you in. Smooth, soulful, raspy, pure enjoyment. If you can find this dude playing in the area I recommend you go see him. Now back to 6th street. So Wednesday not a big deal, pretty kickback. Went back on Saturday around 11:30 PM, Holy Crap! Totally different experience, one I could not wait to get out of. Loud, obnoxious drunks, with no sense of responsibility or well...sense. Not impressed with the weekend crowd, but would say it's a must see once in your life. Just don't hang out too long.
