Owner description: Scenic trail through lush green parks and peaceful lakes: a great place to bike, hike and run.

We go down to Town Lake to walk, ride bikes, rent kayaks and paddle boards. It is a very family friendly and dog friendly place in the heart of Austin. There is an off leash dog park and swimming area for pooches. There are often concerts and many events and races in the area. You can even go down to the Congress Bridge and watch the Bats if you like them.... Our Boxer loves our long walks and it is great to get away and enjoy the beautiful flowers and the swans on Town Lake. A must see in Austin!

Just strolled around for half a day. Beautiful oasis in the city. Lots of wildlife and lots of people just messing about on the river.

Austin's population works on being fit and this is one of the places they do it--walkers, runners, bikers, dogs. The ages ranged from infants in running strollers to folks in their 70's and 80's. 12 miles of wonderful terrain, as easy or as hard as you like!

I've been running here for years and I can't get enough! The trails are well-maintained, the people are friendly, and there are many different places to park. I usually park by Austin HS and run from the area called "the rock" on the 3 mile loop up to the pedestrian bridge-- such a great loop!
