“Fun experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This area was very eclectic and very crowded when we went on a Sunday afternoon. Crowds of people dining, shopping and enjoying beautiful weather. Most of the shops were antique; would have enjoyed it more if there were artsy places. Huge variety of restaurants as well as many food trucks. We enjoyed the booths with local artists. Parking was tricky, we drove around and found a spot on a side street a block or two away. A fun place to browse and people watch but you need patience to stand in lines for much of the dining, etc.

“Check out St. Vincent de Paul”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

In the mist of all the cool new shops sits an adorable little thrift shop. St. Vincent de Paul has the best clothes books and furniture that you will fill anyshere in Austin. Take a break from the glitter and find your soul at St. Vincent's.

“ONE ON THE MOST UNIQUE PLACES YOU WILL EVER GO”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

This place is hard to describe to someone from the planet earth.

The locals have a saying Keep Austin Wierd. And this shopping area takes that to a whole new level

I encompasses about 5 blocks and has stores, soda shops, restaurants and live music. Also they have a ton of food trucks like the ones you see on eat street.

it is packed almost all the time so go early and enjoy you will definitely rank this one on one of the places you will have to visit again.

“Great Area to Explore”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Plenty of shopping, places to eat, great people watching. This is what I had imagined Austin to be like, and I was not disappointed.
Quirky and cool.

“Little Shops and Places to Eat”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

This part of Austin reminds you of the good old days. Little shops each with a niche of their own. There are food places here and there down the street. The influence of old school, hippies, lovers of the eclectic, and old fashion creativity are apparent when visiting this street south of downtown. This area is not what people expect when visiting Texas. This part of the street is more like artsy areas of Portland, Ore, old time Venice, CA, Haight -Ashbury etc. Must see, even if you just drive by real slow.
