“Helpful, friendly folks”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Friendly and helpful advice that we stumbled upon by my husband calling them to book a tour of the city. We booked a tour which was on a MB bus, with about 12 other visitors. Chris, our guide, was very knowledgeable and informative. Great way to get an overview of the area at the BEGINNING of your visit to the city!

“Good place to start your tours ...”
Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

Visiting from Florida, the Visitor Center was a good place to start. Staff was friendly and helpful, setting us up with a City tour, and searching for the best hotel deal within our price range. Staff directed us to a parking lot, just behind their building, for $10 all day (don't get confused with another lot across the street ...more money). Hope this helps for an enjoyable visit.

“mainly a place for maps and brochures.”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

Convenient to our hotel so we stopped in for info. Clerks were not very helpful but the free brochures were. Gift shop inside but plenty more on the same block. They do offer free walking tours, we did not participate but heard they were ok.

“Not Very Friendly”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

We went to the Austin Visitor Center to take the Duck Adventures Tour (See my Duck Adventures Tour Review). The good: They let us use their bathroom before the tour. The Bad: The gave me bad information about the parking garage 1 block up saying it was $10 all day. Nope: It was $24 for 3-4 hours as I found out when I exited the garage (gulp!). Also, when paying for the Duck tours they said teenagers needed a student ID (for student discount). Well, they gave me the student discount without showing ID's but acted like they were doing me a big favor. In fact my 14 year old honor student does not have an ID. Oh, we were on Spring Break that's why not in school on a week day! Anyway that was weird. So I give them an overall "Poor" because of the mis-information on the parking garage cost (they should know that).
