“Too little time!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

We had a very short window on President's day and stopped in. I wish we had set aside a half day. The museum was very well done and the exhibits interesting and age appropriate. Not quite as fantastic as the Kennedy Library in Boston but well worth a visit.

“More than LBJ”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Visited the Library in conjunction with a cocktail reception. Great exhibits not only chronicaling LBJ's life, and of course Lady Bird, but also the history of his times and the lives of all our nation's Presidents.

“Allow enough time here!”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

What a fascinating man! The museum includes all the photos and mementos and exhibits you would expect, but also provides visitors to "experience" LBJ to see how this wheeler and dealer worked with Congress to bring out so many of the progressive programs that changed our country for the better (in my opinion!). You can pick up a phone receiver and hear LBJ verbally wrestle this or that politician to push through legislation. Or watch an animatronic model of LBJ tell jokes to an audience of constituents.
The debacle of Viet Nam is not downplayed, but it is put into a context. The personal side of LBJ and his family is also depicted.

“Walk through history when you tour this library”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

There was no charge to visit this library on the day that we visited but we did give a donation. One could easily spend several hours here as there is so much to see. There are several floors on which there are exhibits. LBJ became president during a turbulent time in America's history. The Civil Rights movement was in full swing and, also, the escalating conflict in Vietnam. These two issues defined his presidency and prevent him from running for another term. In the end, both probably contributed to an early death for him. His life and times are covered extensively in this library.
