“Easy (stair)climb, great view!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Climbing the stairs up to the peak with 4- and 6-year-old boys was no problem. There are even a few picnic tables up there for a snack and drink. The kids loved exploring the little paths around the top, and I didn't worry about them other than the accidental brush against a cactus. Nice view of both downtown Austin in the distance on one side and the lake down below on the other.

“Nice view, but that's it.”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

A little 5 minute hike up the hill and you get a GREAT view of west Austin and the 360 bridge. Once you take in the view, there's nothing else to the place. It's worth a quick stop, or a photo op, but that's really about it.

“Go alone, or with family or with out of town visitors”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Nice gem of a place that can be visited during 3 seaons. I am yet to brave it in the winter. will post an update next year.

The view is phenomenal, the climb is fun. You can be adventurous and trod off the beaten path. My 8 yr old was on a roll and finding new trails all by herself. We had a hard time keeping up.

It can get hot in summer - make sure you have plenty of water on hand. Getting there and leaving is part of the fun - the drive is amazing as well. Parking does get busy but never full - just drive by and you will find a spot.

Once you are done - visit the mayfield nature preserve at the bottom of the hill. Good stop over there as well

“Great view, easy to find”
Reviewed July 12, 2014

I really liked Mount Bonnell. It was easy to find, and cool to drive up those winding roads. We chose the stairs route, but you can also walk up a path. There are picnic tables at the top. Gorgeous view.

“Mind blowing view”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

The trek up was a little daunting for the kids but once up it was amazing. Watched the sunset and a wedding up at the top. Beautiful place with views of the city that are mind blowing. Go in the evening.
