“A bit of an uphill walk, but a nice view of Lake Austin”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

The picture is the reason for going here...Look down on numerous lakefront mansions. the climb to the top can be a bit strenuous for those with physical challenges (age, etc.)

“What a View!”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

This was totally unexpected. Not the easiest to find as this Park is right in the middle of a residential area, but once there it is well worth the visit. You can either get to the top by climbing the stairs or take the path. Taking the path gives you spectacular views of the Colorado River and the surrounding Austin Area. You can stay as long as you like, there is no charge, and not far from downtown Austin. If your visiting take a little extra time to visit this, I think the view is worth the extra time.

“Great Views of Lake and Mansions”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

We liked the overlooking the lake and the mansions. It was breath-taking. You park on the road and climb stairs up to the top of the hill. The hill is covered with trees and when you get to the top you have this amazing view of the countryside, the mansions, the boat docks and the boats going down the river. I recommend this trip to Mount Bonnell.

“Great view”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We started our stay in Austin with a climb up the steps....there are lots of steps.....the view is great. It was crowded but it was expected as it was a holiday weekend. You can stay 10 minutes or hike the trails or picnic. Beautiful homes on the hillside.

“Excellent Views from Up High”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

I love the views at Mt. Bonnell. It is definitely work the very short hike. I highly recommend visiting this area and taking a few photos while you are there. However, I prefer it at less busy times. The last time we went it was not as crowded. Get there early to avoid an influx of tourist.
