I am glad that I made this one of my destinations while in Austin. The garden with all the sculptures placed about was serene, it is just unfortunate that the road is right against it and there are not barriers to stop the noise of the cars. They enrcourage you to take photographs and you can even touch the bronze sculptures in the garden if you would like. It has a small entrance fee and is a place you can really wander and hang around, and it is perfect if you do not have most of a day to go to an art museum or just want to be outside.

If you'd rather see an exhibit of Norman Rockwell or Frederick Remington than spend a day in the Guggenheim, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden is the place for you. You'll never have to ask yourself, "What is that supposed to be?" or step the least bit outside your artistic comfort zone here.

Personally, I'd rather spend my art time at the Blanton.

Lovely gardens and a manageable size make this a nice stop on a tour of Austin.

The USG&M is a quite and serene place. It is such a pleasure to view art in such a setting, where there is a nice mixture of art and nature. It is so peaceful. They are currently undergoing an expansion plan in which they need donor contributions for the purpose of enhancing on their educational programs.
