This is a beautiful campus that should be visited if possible. There are different quads and sections and good walking shoes are a must. But it's worth taking the time to wander around.

UT is a nicely laid out campus, that's worth exploring for 1-3 hours, if you like that kind of activity. Like any large college campus, it has the usual mix of buildings - student union, bell tower, etc. Fountains and statues make for good photo opportunities.

Be sure to stop by the Harry Ransom center to see an original Gutenberg Bible - 1 of only 5 in the US. Plus, there's a Frieda Kahlo self-portrait on display. Both are free.

Other than an impressive-looking stadium and pervasive fan apparel for the Longhorns, this looks to be an average campus.

Yes, I went to the Univesirty of Texas at Austin as a guest lecturer. It was really big. It rained. It has one of the most impressive football stadiums I've seen. The students I spoke to were very well behaved and asked intelligent questions. You get pretty sick of the burnt orange colour pretty quickly but it is distinctive.

You don't have to bleed Burnt Orange to appreciate the beauty of the UT Austin campus. All of the buildings are part of the master plan, so that the architecture harmonizes, regardless of the decade in which the building was built. The campus is dotted with fabulous sculptured fountains, and a meandering creek near the stadium. On winning nights, the top of the tower glows orange, and when Texas wins a national title, the windows in the tower library are lit in a number one. Looking at the tower, you should try to name the five languages adorning the building. And, at night pause to enjoy the carillon bells concert at the base of the tower. The Blanton Art Museum is a world class museum with such interesting collections. The Littlefield mansion is a gem, and was featured in the cartoon Bloom County. Every nook and cranny of the campus is filled with history and interesting facts. And best of all, it's in AUSTIN! And yes, I am a Texas Ex, so I do know the campus well, but I revisited recently after 10 years and was awed again at the beauty of the place,
