Impressive campus. If you're visiting Austin this is a great place to stay (AT&T Conference Center) because it centrally located in the city so you can walk everywhere from the AT&T. The hotel itself offers one of the best restaurants in the city - Carillon. From there you can walk to the LBJ Library, The Blanton Art Museum, The Texas History Museum, The capital, and many many restaurants down town. The campus itself is beautiful and offers lots of activities.

I went for a midday football game and had my mind blown. The stadium was enormous and the fans in Austin are some of the best. I was just surrounded by college students. There were families and generations of alumni.

If you are in Austin you gotta check out the University

Besides being located adjacent to I-35 which comes to a stand still during rush hour, it is located in the heart of the city and therefore lacks parking for large events, like home football games. This is especially true if the city is also holding another major sports attraction such and the up coming 2nd Grand Prix. No rooms available withing 60 miles due to the 120,000+ Grand Prix fans plus another 90K football fans.

This was a great day...walking and talking...seeing the campus on foot. "The Drum", The Stadium....the dorms, the Halls of Learning and most of all The Library...I enjoyed reading, microfiching and researching....a great place for learning, studying and growing.

Some amazing buildings, such as the alumni center and the weird football stadium. I don't like the UT orange, though. I mainly go for museums. Some of them are great.
